Jagoditsch, Dolores
Dolores Jagoditsch, 86, peacefully passed away July 25, 2015. She was born Dolores Marie Rosenbaum on December 3, 1928, to Agnes and Clarence Rosenbaum, in LaGrande, Ore. She often talked about her happy childhood, loving parents and how much she enjoyed her early years. Dolores moved with her family to the Marysville/Sunnyside, Wash. area when she was 13 – attending Marysville High School, where she was active in choir and developed many lifelong friendships. In 1946 she enrolled at WSU, met and later married John Abercrombie, and then lived in Seattle and Olympia, Wash. There, they had daughters Laurie and Jayne before divorcing in 1958. She and the girls returned to Everett, where she worked at Sno Isle Regional Libraries and WA State Employment Security. As a loving and attentive mother she shared with her girls her love of books, music, Woodland Park Zoo visits, Holiday celebrations and even convincing them that Santa preferred beer to milk! In 1963, Dolores married Bernie Jagoditsch and the family moved to Marysville. After retirement in 1981, she and Bernie moved to the Wenatchee, Wash. area, enjoying many years at their home on the Wenatchee River, before moving back to Everett in December 2013. Dolores will be lovingly remember by all who knew her (as Rosie, Debe or Dolores) for her fun-loving spirit, tenacity, love of dogs, cooking, baking cookies, walking along Wenatchee's Riverfront Park, traveling around the world and a lifelong love of music and books. And, especially, her never-ending love, support and pride for daughters Laurie and Jayne. She was the best mom ever! Dolores is survived by daughters, Laurie Stroud (Jeff), Jayne Abercrombie; nephew, Charlie Cruzen; and sister-in-law, Shirley Jagoditsch (and family). She was preceded in death by husband, Bernie and sister, Eleda Jo Cruzen. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the attentive and caring staff at Providence Hospice and Hidden Creek Adult Family Home. Dolores will be laid to rest in the family plot at Marysville Cemetery. There will be no service, per her request. In lieu of flowers, a donation to your local Hospice or Humane Society is suggested.
