Donald Ray Fisher

Don was born September 6, 1932 in Cashmere, WA to the late Ernest and Dorothy Fisher. On February 24, 2014 he peacefully concluded his 81 year earthly journey at his home in Lake Stevens, WA. Don attended school in Concrete, WA and served for five years in the US Navy before meeting the love of his life, JoAnn Maybee. They were married December 26, 1959 and raised four children. After a few years of operating his own logging business, he began a 30 year career with the Weyerhaeuser Company. He retired at age 60 in September 1992 and built his dream shop where he spent most of his time. Whether tinkering around the shop on some project or working in his office on his greatest passion, building or repairing computers, he always had time to help anyone in need of advise or repair. Even much charity work came from his shop and loving hands. Don was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Helton; brother, Roy; and grandson, Michael Carter. He is survived by his wife of 54 years; brother, Jim; daughters, Lori Devier, Shelly Fisher, Tami Lein; son, Jay (Trina); nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; many friends and two very close companions from his Weyerhaeuser days, James (Jim) Butler and Robert (Bob) Oliphant. Per Don's request, there will be no public service. A small celebration of his life will be held on Sunday for close family.
