Gordon Palmer "Bud" Bustad

Gordon Palmer Bustad "Bud"

The world has lost an amazing man. Born at home in Stanwood on February 9, 1921. Gordon Bustad passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on February 5, 2013; just four days shy of his 92nd birthday. He was coined "Bud" as a child by his sisters, because he was their little "Buddy", which he remained to so many throughout his life.
Bud graduated salutatorian from Lincoln High School and was proud to have played on their 1938 high school state championship football team.
After a brief service in the army he moved to Everett, where he met his future wife of 61 years, Dolores. They purchased their first home, where they had four wonderful children, and remained in the family home until he entered into eternal life.
For many years he worked for Goldberg Furniture and retired later from Weyerhauser Co. He was on several bowling leagues, loved to fish, watch the Mariners, Sonics, Huskies and the Seahawks.
At home he worked hard and in his spare time, he enjoyed working crosswords, listening to country music, and watching game shows. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and friends and he always looked forward to social events. He was the life of the party and had a great sense of humor. Everyone enjoyed him immensely.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Peder Matthias Bustad and Regina Alvilda Paulson; along with sisters, Clara, Pearl; and grandson, Aaron. He is still cherished by his wife, Dolores; and his children, Patrick Bustad and Annette Bustad, Rozanne (Larry) Cram, Gloria Ruuth, Allan (Angie) Bustad; brother, Donald; grandchildren, Jason, Kory, Ginger, Travis, Andraya, Melissa, Desirae, Clayton, Hayley, Aidenn; great-grandchildren, Chase, Syvannah, Brett, Sierrah, Monty, Kaedyn, Jakob, Logan, Benson, Keegan, Anneliese, Blake, Morgan and Tanner; great-great-grandchild, Erynn; and his extended family, including numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed and never forgotten. He holds a special place in our hearts.
A special thanks to his caregivers Cari Jo and Jessica and all the family members that helped with his care. He so appreciated each and every one of you!
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 2-6 pm. at the home of Al Bustad 19724 Frank Waters Rd, Stanwood, 425-330-1405
