Jackie Dean Mathis of Snohomish, WA passed away peacefully with his family by his side, July 22, 2013, at the age of 55. He was born April 29, 1958 to Jackie Alex Mathis and Inez Jane nee Blair in Sparta, IL.
He married Debbie Jennings on September 5, 1998 in Snohomish, WA.
Jack worked for General Construction at the Boeing Plant for 22 years as a foreman and journeyman Ironworker in charge of many large projects in the Boeing facility in Everett, WA. He was a lifelong Ironworker and craftsman. He was a member of Local 392 in East St. Louis, IL and transferred his book to Local 86 in 1990 to Seattle, WA. He loved his family and friends and his little dog Banjo. He was an avid fisherman and loved to fish the many areas of the Pacific Northwest, he loved the outdoors and camping with his family and friends. Jack loved to grill and smoke the fish he caught and built his on grill and smoker. He loved to cook and try many new recipes out on his daughter Kayla. He was well loved by his family and friends and considered his many friends as part of his family. He will be remembered for his quick wit and contagious smile.
Jack is survived by his wife, Debbie, of 14 years; and daughters, Kayla Mathis of Snohomish, WA and Lindsay Mathis Oetjen of Campbell Hill, IL; stepson Travis (Angie) Hall; three grandchildren, Tyne Oetjen, and Elizabeth and Savannah Hall; mother and stepfather, Inez Jane and Earl Fryer of Cutler, IL; stepmother,
Nancy Mathis Woodside of Percy, IL, three sisters,
Debbie Rohlfing of Ava, IL,
Tammy (Bob) Franklin, Willisville, IL, Kimberly Davis of Percy, IL ; and one brother, Chad Mathis of Murphysboro, IL; step-brothers, Bill (Micki) Fryer, Walsh, IL, Jon Fryer of Percy, IL; his in-laws, Marvin and Fay Jennings; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Alex Mathis; his grandparents, George and Floy Blair and Edward Lee and Clara Mathis.
Memorial services will be held Monday July 29, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Granite Falls Middle School, 405 N. Alder, Granite Falls, Washington 98252.
