Jeffrey Alan Cushman "Crusher"
Jeffrey Alan Cushman, 68, of Everett, passed away at his home in Mesa, AZ on June 9, 2013 after a two year battle with cancer, which he fought to the very end.
Jeff was born on March 23, 1945 in Seattle, WA to Floyd and Pauline Cushman. Jeff attended Cascade High School and was a member of the first graduating class in 1963. "Cush" lettered in three sports, excelling in baseball, basketball, and football, as well as serving as ASB president. Jeff was accepted to the UW on an athletic scholarship and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics in 1968. Shortly after graduation, he was drafted into the US Navy
and fought overseas in Vietnam for 18 months. In 1971, he married his long-time sweetheart, Sue Strege. Jeff began working for GTE in 1972. In 1981, the couple welcomed a daughter, Stefani. The family moved to Marysville, WA where they remained until 2001. Jeff retired from GTE in 2001 to Hat Island, WA. He and Sue built a winter home in Mesa, AZ in 2003. During retirement, Jeff enjoyed playing tennis, hiking, boating, and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; daughter, Stefani (husband, Derek Tweedy); grandchildren, Addison and
Cohen; sister, Judy; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held in July.
