Johnny A. Johnston Sr.
Johnny Austin Johnston Sr. went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2013, following an illness. He passed away surrounded by his family. He was born in Tacoma, Washington on January 24, 1950, to Howard A. Johnston Jr. and Janiece Johnston; where he grew up, married and had three children. He moved to Snohomish County in the seventies, married for a second time, had two more children and raised a stepson. He remained in Snohomish County until his death.
He was fanatical about the Mariners and the Seahawks; rarely missing a game. He worked for Sather Manufacturing of Everett for 12 years, until they went out of business; he then worked at Welco lumber mill in Marysville until his illness forced him to retire. John was a very kind, loving, humble, quiet man, and very friendly to everyone.
He is survived by mom, Gloria Johnston Axtell; six children, Sherry (Jerry), Curtice, Tammy, Donald, Johnny Jr., and Casey
(Julia). He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren; four sisters, and two brothers; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by both of his biological parents; a brother; and a grandson.
There will be a celebration of John's life at the Silver Shores mobile home park clubhouse Saturday April 27th at 1 o'clock p.m. Bring your memories of John and help us celebrate the life of this wonderful man.
