Kenneth L. Gleason

Kenneth L. Gleason

Ken was born in Stanwood, WA, September 30, 1924 to Joe and Vivian Gleason. He passed away June 29, 2013, at the age of 88.
He was a WWII veteran, serving as a Gunner's Mate on a minesweeper in Pearl Harbor and the Marshall Islands. In 1951 he married the love of his life, Rose Schroedl. They lived in Marysville, WA, raising four children and working together as a husband and wife team in their real estate business, North State Realty. He also worked with his son, Kelly, in his company, Gleason Construction.
He was a wonderful gardener and as a hobby built his own hydroponic tomato greenhouses, selling his produce to local markets. Some of his favorite memories were of vacation times spent at the family cabin on Whidbey Island.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Rose, and his daughter, Linda.
He is survived by his children, Laurie Snyder (Paul), Kelly Gleason (Kathy), and Stacey King (Tom); his six grandchildren, Michael,
Kevin, Diane, Anthony, Chris, and Michelle; and his sister, Mary Miller (Carl); along with several nieces. He is also survived by his constant feline companion of the past two years, Max.
The family would like to thank Misty and John Marz and their staff at Young At Heart Adult Family Home for their loving care of Ken over the past two years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Purrfect Pals, 230 McRae Road NE, Arlington, WA 98223.
