Lila Mae Estes

Lila Mae Estes, 83, of Startup, Washington passed away September 10, 2013. The youngest of four sisters, Lila was born May 25, 1930 in Beatrice, Nebraska to Oliver and Maude Souder. She moved to Seattle in 1936 and graduated from West Seattle High School in 1948. In 1965, Lila married Jack Estes and moved to Startup. She is survived by her husband, Jack; sons, Frank (Donna) and Charles (Laura); and was preceded in death by daughter, Marla. Lila was an active member of Floral Chapter #117 of the Order of the Eastern Star and held the position of Grand Electa for Washington State in 2005. From the beach at Alki to the Skykomish Valley, Lila brought love, laughter and compassion into the lives of everyone she touched. We are all better human beings because of her kind heart, gentle spirit and strong will. She is truly missed. Memorial to be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Monroe Masonic Center located at 125 South Lewis Street, Monroe, Washington. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please give generously to a charity of your choosing.
