Milton M. "Scoop" McCaulley

Milton M. 'Scoop' McCaulley Milton M. "Scoop" McCaulley, born August 10, 1914 and raised on the McCaulley homestead, now know as River Meadows County Park, passed on January 20, 2014. Scoop worked as a high rigger and hook tender for many logging outfits including Lyman Timber, Laughlin Logging, Preston Logging, Jones & Anderson Timber, McMahan Logging, and Galbraith Brothers Logging. After retiring from the woods, Scoop worked at the Jim Creek Naval Station keeping all the red lights shining on the mountain tops! After retiring again, he worked for the U.S. Forest Service in road maintenance; in his earlier years he also packed supplies by horse to U.S. Forest Service personnel who were fighting forest fires. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie. Scoop is survived by his children: Merle (Sandi) McCaulley; Cori (Jess) Fasey; Jerry (Robin) McCaulley; Derek (BJ) Kempf; Allen Adams, Colleen Adams; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Darrington Cemetary followed by a memorial luncheon at the Darrington Community Center.
