Peter Jerome Taro

Peter, 77, passed away September 6, 2013. He was born in Fargo, ND March 4, 1936. Pete lived in Everett until he moved to Sedro Woolley, WA to be with Carol Valentine and her family. He attended Immaculate Conception and Perpetual Help Schools. At 17 years old he enlisted in the US Navy for three years. He had many jobs before he got into the Labor Union 292, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Everett Eagles 13 for many years. Pete enjoyed many road trips with the cousins, Mariners games, working on cars, woodworking and refinishing furniture and was a frequent visitor to the Skagit Casino. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Charles and Grace Cronin; father and mother, Leonard and Helen Cronin Taro. For the last 14 years he lived in Sedro Woolley with Carol who was a strong, compassionate companion as his health was failing the last four years. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Taro Welch of Everett; nieces, Kathy (Roy) Willard of Granite Falls, WA, Diane (Top) Hughes of Aurora, TX; nephew, Joe (Shelly) Short of Everett; great nieces and nephew, Jamie and Kevin Willard of Marysville, WA; Katie, Mandie, Cassie and Joey, all of Aurora, TX; aunt, Peggy Cronin of Everett; many cousins and their families that affectionately called him Uncle Pete. Per his request there will be no service. He will be laid to rest in the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances can be made to your local food bank. A Celebration for family and friends to remember Pete will be at a later date.
