Robert Earl Cochran

Robert Earl Cochran, 86, passed away on Tuesday January, 28, 2014 in Everett, WA. He was born in Los Angeles, CA The oldest of three sons of Earl and Bethel Cochran. Robert "Bob" was raised in south-central Colorado where his dad, Earl worked as a game warden for the State of Colorado. After graduating from Del Norte High School Bob enlisted in the Navy and that brought him to the Pacific Northwest and naval duty at Harbor Island in Seattle, WA and subsequently he met Agnes (Tootle) Slatlem of Everett, WA. In June of 1946 Bob married Tootie in Everett and within a couple months they relocated to his beloved State of Colorado. There Danny Lee, their oldest son was born but, the lack of good jobs in Colorado, at that time, brought Bob and Tootie back to Everett. In Everett Bob raised his family and added three more children, Terri Lynn, Randy Earl, and Kevin Jay. Bob worked for many years in the auto parts, tires and accessories business as a salesman for Firestone, Barry Hollander TBA and eventually retired from the State of Washington and the Snohomish Liquor Store. Over the years Bob loved to fish for steelhead on the Pilchuck River and hunt ducks and geese in Eastern WA with close friends Jack and Joe Smith and Sam Dagastino. Later, after retiring, Bob began to build and fly R/C airplanes and that led to his joining "the boys" as a member of the R/C flying club located at Nimitz field on Ebey Island. Bob spent many hours at Nimitz field with dear friend Clarence Richey and always enjoyed the camaraderie/hot coffee and always had a story or two to share back home about his "flying buddies." Bob always enjoyed the annual summer trips to the ocean at Grayland, WA and spending time with family and friends and digging razor clams. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bethel Cochran; his brother, Richard (Dick) Cochran; and son, Randy Earl Cochran; and his "tail wagging" companion, Mika. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Agnes (Tootie) Cochran of Everett; his youngest brother, Jim (Jaci) of Powerhorn, Colorado; and children, Danny Lee of Everett, Terri Lynn of Everett and Kevin Jay (Jill) of Lake Stevens; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A private memorial service with take place at a later date to be announced by the family.
