Ronald Marvin Mahnke

Ronald Marvin Mahnke, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather, passed away at home December 19, 2012 after a brave battle with a long illness.
Ron was born to Marvin Mahnke and Mildred Mahnke (Reinholz) on March 30, 1939 in Sheboygan, WI. It was in Sheboygan that he met and married his high school sweetheart, Doris Marie Mahnke (Stange). They married January 24, 1959.
After graduating from Central High School in 1958, Ron joined the Air Force. While serving at Schilling Air Force Base in Kansas his two daughters were born.
After his time in the Air Force, Ron went to and graduated top of his class from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics.
In 1968 Boeing offered him an opportunity at the Everett Plant.
After the big layoff at Boeing, Ron worked at Ernie 's Transmissions in Lynnwood, WA, then ended up at Sears Automotive where he retired.
After retirement he went back to Boeing for a short bit and then got his CDL and became a school bus driver for Durham School Services.
Ron had many interests and hobbies outside of work. He was gifted with an incredibly beautiful voice and sang in many choirs. His model trains grace the living room every Christmas under the tree. He and Doris loved to travel and would take off in his truck anytime and go for a road trip, Disneyland and Vegas being favorite destinations.
Dad leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Doris; daughters, Vicki Gregerson and Kathy Christenson; grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Stephanie and Abbigale. He was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren.
Dad was an incredibly intelligent man who loved reading and learning new things. He was a funny, loving man who will be missed so very much by a family who loved him so very much.
