Susanne G. Colony-Knight passed away peacefully on January, 14, 2013. Known as Sue and loved by all, she will be greatly missed. Born April 11, 1935 in Bellingham, WA to Gladys and Lonnie McLean, she was embraced by her big brother Lonnie McLean, Grandma Suzie West and a whole host of other relatives living near and far. Susanne grew up predominately in Spokane, WA; she spent time with her beloved cousins in North Carolina, her Grandma Sue in Sedro Woolly, and her dad and brother on Mercer Island. In 1953 she married Daryl Colony and made their home in Spokane, WA where they had three wonderful children; Steve, Julie and Jill. Always bold, she bought a restaurant and moved the family to Everett where she later fell in love and married David Knight. Sue and David loved to boat, to entertain, go to the lake house or the ocean and Hawaii. They enjoyed the Elks Club, sports, friends and family.
Sue retired from GTE, she was an active member of the Mukilteo Presbyterian Church, and a volunteer with the food bank. Sue will be remembered for her smile, her strength, laughter and graciousness.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Daryl Colony and David Knight, and her grandson, baby Kailen.
Along with many friends, Sue is survived by her brother, Lonnie; son, Steven (Karen) Colony; daughters, Julie Patterson and Jill Colony-Morrison; grandchildren, Mike (Sonia) Wooten, Josh (Jen) Patterson, Jill (Paul) Patterson Trijillo, Cassandra Colony and Bobby (Tina) Morrison and Travis (Kristen) Morrison; and great-grandchildren, Michelle Patterson, Wyatt, Noah Wooten, and AJ Trijillo.
A Tribute to her life will be held Friday, January 25, 2013, 2:00 p.m., Mukilteo Presbyterian Church, 4514 84th St. SW, Mukilteo, WA. 98275, a reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mukilteo Food Bank or Mukilteo Youth group at the above address.
