Jana J. Johnson
Jana was born October 07, 1963 to James A. and Phyllis M. Johnson in Everett, Washington. Jana grew up on her parents Arabian horse farm right next door to the dairy farm her grandparents owned. Jana graduated from Snohomish High School in 1981. She worked at the Cabbage Patch Restaurant for the owner and very dear friend, Sondra McCutchan, for many years. Jana took a break from her hometown and moved to Maui, Hawaii for eight years, where she made many new friends and excelled in restaurant management.
Upon her return to Snohomish, Jana met her true love, Robert Manis, and excitedly celebrated the birth of their daughter, Isabella on June 21, 2006.
Jana leaves her beloved daughter, Isabella Mae Manis; her fiance', Robert L. Manis; sister, Kristi McFarland; brother-in-law, Michael; brother, Thomas T. Johnson; and Julie and George Allen. She leaves her closest friends, Sharon Donaldson, Sondra McCutchan, and Linda Lamb. Jana also leaves her aunts, Sybil Johnson, Mary Felton; numerous cousins; and many others.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tennis and Lillian Roetcisoender; and her parents, James A. and Phyllis Johnson.
Jana was the light of our lives, the diamond glint on snow, the smile that warmed our hearts, with a singing voice that won many talent shows. She was Miss Snohomish 1988. She leaves behind a sister and brother that adored her for the wonderful, amazing woman that she was.
Funeral services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Snohomish at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 with burial following at G.A.R. Cemetery. Memorials may be made at any branch of First Heritage Bank for the Manis Family. Arrangements under direction of Bauer Funeral Chapel, Snohomish.

My sincere thoughts, love and prayers are with Jana's family during this difficult and tragic loss. I knew the Johnson family in high school, our brothers being great friends. Although older, I also remember Jana's effervescent smile and warmth well. Reflecting back to those days, Jana was a household name at our home, with her magnetism and charming personality. She was a genuine beauty, inside and out. There was always something special about Jana. I am truly saddened for your entire family, your love, and your daughter. My heart is with you all. May the love of your family and friends hold you close and help you through your grief. We all will remember Jana with the smile she gave to others, and the lives that she touched along her journey here with us. May she now rest in eternal peace.

I went to High School with her and she was such a beautiful, energetic, fun loving gal! She was a class ahead of me so I looked up to her. She made everyone feel good with her smile and laughter!
I'm so saddened to hear of this tragic loss. My heart goes out to her family - They will be in my prayers.

I met Jana in grade school and we remained friends throughout our high school years. I was only fortunate enough to visit with her a few times after that, she would always greet me the same way. First, she would yell out my first AND last name almost like I was in trouble, the next thing I knew she would give me a big giggly hug, a hug with the enthusiasm and sincerity a young child would give a parent returning home from a long day at work; it felt special. She had a way about her that made her friends feel special. I will always remember her smile, her bubbly laugh and her awesome singing voice. She lived life with a zest and energy unlike anyone else I know. I’m lucky and honored to have called her my friend, a special friend who will be missed dearly. A few years ago, I was thrilled to learn she had found her true love and was blessed with a beautiful little girl that they were both ecstatic about. Bob and little Bella, I can’t express enough how truly sorry I am, as well as Tom, and the rest of her family; my prayers are with you all. Wishing you God’s peace Jana

Jana,thank you for the time we spent together in high school. Your smile i will never forget, the sparkle in your eyes, the energy around you was incredible.I miss the talks we had when i walked you to your next class. I miss the friday Pep Assemblies and those goofy skits you some how made funny.I will cherish all the special times we shared. My heart is heavy, but i know you are in a better place. I will miss YOU alot, you are doing Gods work now, i just hope God can handle You.We shared alot of dreams,goals and wants in life.I am so happy to say that my last visit with Jana was with Bob by her side, flashing that big smile and pictures of Little Bella clutched in her hand.It was the summer of 2006,our 25 year class re union. Jana, you were one to really live life to the fullest. Even though you were always the first one to make fun of yourself you found beauty and laughter and life in everything around you. YOU were such a pleasure to be around: you always made someone feel simply SPECIAL when you were in their presence...I can remember when we switched gum and shoes and football notes when we were 12 or so...you always had that young spirit within you...we should all live like that...you were here to teach us a life lesson...don't take yourself too seriously....loved you always...

Bob, Isabella, Kris, I am so sorry for your loss..Jana was an amzing woman, always smiling, full of so much spirit! When I first did her hair, she was so bubbly, always talking about you three! Jana, you sang like a rock star, even at DD's slumber party when we were just kids. When we were older (we thought) and I went to see you sing, you did Heart like nobody's business. The fun-loving, cute little girl with the sparkling eyes and sweet personality will forever be etched in my mind. I remember her sneaking-up behind me in the outfield during a ball game at Emerson elementary, tickling me and then running away, giggling in delight. I had a huge crush on her.
I didn't talk to her much in high school, which made it all the more incredible to me when she asked me to be her homecoming escort. I could hardly believe that she would ask me, but obviously she still thought of me as a friend. Jana always made me feel special, and for that she will always have a special place in my heart.

You always filled the room with laughter. You were always a fun person to be around. When I found out you were pregnant, I was so excited for you.
