Lad Wyzykowski Obituary

Lad James Wyzykowski Nov. 19, 1966-Jan. 22, 2016 Lad James Wyzykowski, 49, of Snohomish, passed away on January 22, 2016. He was born on November 19, 1966 in Parma, Ohio to mother, Linda Wyzykowski. He graduated from North Royalton High School. Lad proudly served 20 years in the U.S. Navy, receiving many awards. Among those awards were 6 Good Conduct Awards, 4 Navy Achievement Medals, 2 Navy Battle "E" Ribbons, and 2 Sea Service Ribbons. Lad retired from the Navy in 2005. Lad worked at O'Reilly's in Snohomish and was an active member of the community. His favorite activities included racing at the Monroe Raceway, Nascar, football (go Browns!), hockey, dancing, and karaoke. Lad was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Wyzykowski; grandparents, Lad and Dorothy Zelenka; and uncle, Lad Zelenka. He is survived by his former spouse and good friend, Jeannette Hogg; son, Justin Wyzykowski; daughter, Kristina Schmitt, and her husband Bryan. Lad was excitedly expecting his first grandchild, Bryce, due to be born on February 15, 2016. Lad is also survived by cousins that he loved as if they were siblings, Jennifer, Michael, and Jackie; he felt more like a brother to each of them. He also leaves behind a beloved aunt, Laurie Townsend who was like a mother to him and her husband, Odus; loving uncles, Mark and Marty Zelenka; and their children. A memorial service with military honors will be held on February 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Kla Ha Ya Park on the Riverfront Trail in Snohomish. Memorial donations may be made to the Snohomish Food Bank, or The Fisher House. Lad – Your life was a blessing; your memory, a treasure. You are loved beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure.

Lad- your smile and cheerful greetings every time I saw you.... Not just family , but all considered you a brother....I felt good playing viola/ violin while you danced... To all left behind... Your loss is felt beyond words.... To lads future grand baby- " live long and strong, be happy and loved"

All he ever wanted was too share that human need for companionship. He was never really lonely because he had friends and aquaintences all over town who feel that something is conspicuously missing by his absence. Every time I see someone with a beard walk in I look to see if it's him and then I realize he's gone too soon. Condolences to the family.

Lad,
I haven't seen you in years, but will never forget you making me feel so welcome in Virginia Beach & also when you were stationed in Pensacola. I had such a wonderful time with you, Jenn and the kids. Loved drinking my coffee in the morning, while watching planes fly over in Pensacola. Loved watching how you helped create such a loving family and what an overcomer you were. It was a full week of making memories and getting to know each other. I thank God for that short, but special connection. Until we meet again...

To his children, even though I don't know you, if you were raised by Lad you must be salt of the earth good people. I watched him help people who didn't ask for it, cheer people up who he saw needed it, always saw the best in others and if he had to would turn the other cheek. I'm a better person for having known Lad. You have mine and my wife Diane's deepest sympathies and condolences on your fathers passing.

Lad you were like a candle in the wind burned out long before your time. You always greeted everyone with a big smile and a great handshake or a pat on the back. The only way to help fill the void of you being gone Is the beautiful memories that God leaves in our heart, and to know that you are that bright shining star at night looking down on your family, and the town of Snohomish. You are a loss to the people of snohomish and a gain to the heavens. I can picture you at the front gates of heaven helping people through the threshold. God bless your journey my friend. May your soul fly high in heaven and your memories rest deep in the hearts of every one you touched

You were my little brother, my nephew, and even like a son through your short time with us. Although we didn't get together much after you left for the service, we had many memories, you were and always will be loved and missed. God bless, Love you, Uncle Mark
