Cecile Dow Obituary

Cecile T. Dow
July 12, 1922 - Feb. 25, 2011

Cecile was born eighty-eight years ago to Maurice and Esther Bosket in Everett, Washington where she remained for her lifetime. Married to Jack MacCurdy, she had three sons whom she raised and loved dearly. Later, married to Ronald Dow, Cecile and Ron enjoyed their life together along with family and friends until his passing in 2005.
Until recent years, Cecile stayed active tending to her gardens, playing bingo, cards, solving crosswords and she was an avid reader. She was a longtime member of the Normanna Lodge where she enjoyed years of fun with friends in The Ladies Club. Cecile had a knack for photography and leaves behind many treasured moments she caught on film.
Throughout the years, Cecile put her imagination to work on crafts, needlework and crocheted items, happy to give away most of her finished work.
We will cherish the memories we made with Cecile and will keep them close to our hearts. She was a wonderful woman with a warm heart, a strong constitution and a great sense of humor. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Husband, Ronald Dow; sons, Joe and Steven MacCurdy; brothers, Lawrence and Kenneth Bosket; and granddaughter, Jamie MacCurdy, predeceased Cecile.
Cecile is survived by her sisters, Whilma Boone (Fred) and Beatrice Cardin (Clayton); son, Jim MacCurdy (Sandra); daughter-in-law, Marie MacCurdy; grandchildren, Michele Cary (Chris), Gina, Cece, Joe and John MacCurdy and Wendy Canaga; 20 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, extended family and many friends.
Please join the family for a celebration of Cecile's life at Cecile's home in Everett on March 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Contact Sandy at 661-947-2396 with any questions.

The thing I liked most about Aunt Cecile, is that she would always let you know how she felt about something or someone. I will miss her phone calls to let me know she had received my Christmas card.
