Lydia Dennee Obituary

Lydia L. Dennee (Bartz)

Lydia L. Dennee (Bartz) 100, passed away January 16, 2011 in Olympia, WA.
She was born on October 30, 1910 in Crandon, Wisconsin, the eldest of five children, to Frank and Jennie Bartz.
On July 3, 1930, she married the love of her life, John S. Dennee of Wabeno, WI. In 1936, they moved to Everett, WA and raised three daughters, Barbara, Dorothy and Jacqueline.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Dorothy; great-granddaughter, McKenzie; and great-grandson, Shawn.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Hinson and Jacque Dennee-Lee; five granddaughters, Patti (Jim) Larson, Stephanie (Dan) Asplund, Shelley (Jim Burt) Stevens, Debbie (Don) Lewis and Lydia Dennee-Lee; ten great- grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
During her life, Lydia took great pride in being a homemaker, caring mother, loving wife, and good friend. Also, she was one the first women employed by Weyerhaeuser's presto log plant during WWII and she was an avid labor union supporter.
Camping and fishing were her favorite pastimes and she enjoyed being in the company of friends and family. Her goal was to live to be 100 years and she accomplished that with flair.
Our family would like to give special thanks to JoAnna Black and Lori Potter, her caregivers, for their love and support.
Graveside Services for Lydia will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2011, at Evergreen Cemetery followed by a reception at the funeral home. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. - 12 Noon, Friday, January 28, 2011.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Providence Home Healthcare and Hospice in Olympia, WA.
Mom, you were much loved and will be greatly missed by many.

Grandma, You were my moms best friend and I learned alot from your relationship. I feel blessed that my mother is my best friend too. I will alway remember your door being open for all the coffee visits and the candy dish you always kept full. I have so many great memories of family gatherings at your house with you and Grandpa. I enjoyed every Sunday when you were at our home cooking dinner with Mom. Our house felt complete when you were there. When you stayed with Mom and Dad for that year, I got to know you even better and saw that you were clearly a fighter; I gained some of my strength from you. My heart is full of special thoughts and memories and I am thankful that God gave me a special Grandma like you. I do miss you so much. I love you! Shell
