Phyllis Keller Obituary

Phyllis Leora Keller

Mom passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus on January 7, 2011.
She was born on October 12, 1918 to Robert and Mable Fey in Spink County, South Dakota. She grew up in the farming community near Aberdeen, SD.
Mom was an RN and spent her life caring for others. She was the nurse that all of the patients loved, and other staff enjoyed working with. She left South Dakota and relocated to Seattle where she met Robert Keller and they fell in love. They were married March 18, 1948 in Seattle. They had three daughters while living in Seattle. In 1958, Thanksgiving day, they purchased six acres and moved the family to the Snohomish, WA area near Clearview where Mom became known as a person who had a strong, caring, and innovative nursing sensibility. Her neighbors in the surrounding community would call upon her as a resource when they needed assistance. Our kitchen was Dr. Mom's ER. She would stitch us up and send us back out to play with a heavy dose of kisses and love. Mom enjoyed sewing and sewed most of our clothes for school. She was very creative and made various dolls, pillows, and stuffed animals and blankets. She loved to collect dolls and had a room filled with her collection. She was devoted to Dad, or as she always called him, Bobbie.
She is survived by the love of her life, Bobbie; daughters, Maeve (Mike) Kelly, Lanoree (Mike) Garton, Leora (Sam) Aigbekaen, grandsons, Aaron (Verline) Ryner, Eric (Leah) Ryner, Clark (Cheryl) Garton, Timothy (Danielle) Garton, Elizabeth, Marcus, and Jeffrey Aigbekaen; step-grandchildren, Ken and Sandra Aigbekaen, Krista and Erin Kelly; ten great- grandchildren; sister, Norma Hall, of Asheville, NC; and sister-in-law, Yvonne Masten, of Cle Elum, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, Robert and Mable; sister, Frances Todd; and in-laws, Fred and Lucy Keller; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Betty Wadley.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Sunrise View Convalescent Center for their love and care during the past year. A special thank you to nurses, Kelly, Loretta, and Evelyn for their thoughtfulness and concern for Mom during the last few weeks of her life.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2011 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway Ave, Everett.

Mom, My heart aches for you. I miss you so very much...there are no words to say how I feel, but the Lord knows what I am feeling. You are all smiles and at peace in the presence of Jesus and the angels. You are my hero and my life is a testament to your motherly love and gracious ways. Your loving daughter.

An Angels Love:

A text came today
saying an angel has passed on
Gone and never again to be seen
But forever lives in our heart
As we mourn you grandma our hearts bleed
Our soul cries
Because a heart of gold stopped beating
I fight through these tears to celebrate
An angel that was you
As you leave this earth
You leave me with joyful memories
Bigger than the world can hold
Each birthday card, each year brings another message of love
From your heart comes a special kind of love
A love that no one could have foreseen
With open arms you embraced me
As though I was easy to love
I never could understand how you loved me so effortlessly
But now I know that angel's love is pure, true, and unconditional
Going beyond color and blood connection
It was an honor to have you call me granddaughter
Even for a short while.......Oh!How I wish I could have let you know each day
How much your love elevated my hopes and dreams
Words arent even enough to express the joy you gave a lonely heart like mine
But I hope that as you look down on me from above I reflect the person you hoped me to be
Grandma Phyllis your death leaves a void in our hearts
The world will never be the same because an angel has gone to be with the lord
I love you grandma!

I remember grandma as a very loving soul who loved us all just as we are. She overlooked the faults of the grandkids and focused more on giving us all as much love as she could muster.
Grandma, with tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best.
What moves through us now is silence, quiet sadness, longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but we will remember not just that you left us, but that you will forever live in our hearts. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. How I wish you had the opportunity to meet your new grand-daughter-in-law Precious, you would have loved her just as much as you loved us all.
We will forever miss you and you will remain in our hearts, until we meet again.
We love you forever and always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mrs. Eller,

I never had the privilege to meet you but I was fortunate enough to have hear many wonderful things about you. The positive influence you had on others especially your family can never be forgotten as it is remembered and lived through them. Your family and friends will be safe by you watching them from above. May God give you paradise and much more. My condolences to all those feeling this tremendous loss.

One of the most beautiful women to ever walk this earth. You were the best grandma a grand daughter could ask for :)I am so thankful to God for you. You’re not just a memory, you’re a spirit inside all of us. "Between the earth and sky above, nothing can match a grandmother’s love."

Phyllis was my great-aunt (her sister Frances was my grandmother). I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Bob and family.

Phyllis never lost that beautiful smile, she was a lovely lady and I had the privilege to visit her and exchange "doll news" with her and marvel at her amazing Doll Room over the years. Phyliss and Bob were a very important part of the Bluegrass music around Snohomish County and Seattle.

She was a delight to meet and a joy to care for. It was honor to be a part of her life while at Sunrise and she made me see that I love what I do.
