Edna White Obituary

Edna Amy (Cawsey) White

Edna Amy (Cawsey) White was born December 19, 1929 in Vancouver, B.C. and died Sunday, May 8, 2011 in Everett, WA with family lovingly at her side. She grew up in Victoria, B.C. then worked for the Canadian government in Victoria as a stenographer. She married Ernest White in Toronto, Ontario. They eventually moved to Seattle, WA where they raised their family. Though they returned to Canada to live in Prince George, most of her adult life was spent in Shoreline, WA. She moved to the Mill Creek/Everett, WA area in her later years.
Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest.
She is survived by her children, Stephen, Jonathan, Carol Ann Russo (David) and Susan (Gary); and by her sister, Doris Moody, in Vancouver, B.C. She also leaves four grandchildren; and one great grandchild, all who live in Washington State. She also leaves behind a long line of people who have been touched by God's love through knowing her sweet and gentle spirit.
She had great compassion for the suffering and underprivileged and enjoyed giving what she could to charities she felt would make a difference in the lives of others. Edna lived simply but lived generously.
She enjoyed history, nature, science and discovering new topics of interest. She enjoyed music and loved to play the piano. She wrote poetry, some silly and some profound. Edna was a dedicated wife and loving mother. She loved being a mom and gave it everything she had. So, it is poetic that she left this earth on Mother's Day. Her work was done, she had loved us all well and was ready to go to her reward and meet her Savior face to face.
Loved by people wherever she went, she will be greatly missed. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
Services will be on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Purdy and Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 409 Filbert Rd, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
If you knew Edna and wish to send your regards, her children welcome any words you may wish to share. They may be sent to PO Box 14208, Mill Creek, WA 98082.
