Gavin Dustin Milo O'Bryant
Born in Kirkland, WA on March 20, 2006; bringing nothing but joy and love into the world from that very first moment. Gavin was a fearless, adventurous, perfect little boy with a contagious laugh and a smile and dimples no one could ever say no to! He loved his super heroes, lions, video games and the color green. Even at such a young age he was gifted on the basketball court. When he was particularly proud of a move out on the court, out of nowhere, he would stop everything and give his parents a "salute". He was entertaining in so many ways, especially with his signature dance moves. Gavin wanted to be a police officer when he grew up, just like his daddy.
Gavin is preceded in death by grandfathers, Herbert O'Bryant and David Peterman; aunt, Rhonda Perkins; and uncle, Dustin Henthorn. We take comfort in knowing these angels were waiting for our boy with loving arms.
Although Gavin was only with us for a short time, he touched so many lives. He is survived by his parents, Cyrus and Reshelle O'Bryant; sisters, Mariah and McKenna O'Bryant; grandmothers, Hamideh O'Bryant and Rita Peterman, grandparents, Dwight and Lynda Little; uncles and aunts, Robert Pinte, Richard Pinte, Seth and Melissa Almli; cousin and best friend, Aidan Little; and special friend Claire Mitchell.

I just wanted to write and tell the family how deeply sorry I am for their loss. I do not know any of you- I am a firefigher who shares the same frequency as Fire Dist 7 (those that responded) and listened to the 911 call as it came out over our air. My heart absolutely sank- we all as a crew gathered around the computer terminal with radio in hand listening intently for updates, quietly thinking prayers for your Gavin. Every second that ticked by we refreshed the page, waiting, hoping, listening- this is our worst nightmare as firefighters/EMTs. My heart breaks to hear the outcome and understand the circumstances behind where you, as a family, are left today. I want you to know that your sweet little boy was in the most experienced, most skilled of hands- the firefighters/medics that responded that day were the best there is anywhere around, and the response was seamless and expeditious- they did absolutely everything there was they could do at unfathomable speeds, knowing that time was of the very most precious essence. It doesn't bring any softness to the wounds, I know this.. But I hope you feel a tiny sliver of comfort knowing that he was surrounded by an entire County of prayers at his time of need, and that we all, as a community, will and are keeping you in our dearest of thoughts.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Though I never met Gavin, his pictures exemplify his little vibrant spirit. I worked with Cyrus at Shotze's about 10 years ago when I was in college. Your little boy looks and seems just like a Cyrus mini-me. Obviously a sweet little man with an ever-apparent sense of humor. What can I say that hasn't already been said? Nothing seems "right" enough. I am so sorry for the loss of your son. Words can never fill the void that is left when losing a loved one. It is a void that takes forever to heal. I hope that with knowing how many people love your family and Gavin, that it will help in the healing process.
My heart is shattered at the loss of this sweet child. Gavin is loved by so many people, including myself. I had the joy of working at Lynda's daycare with him for almost a year, but that year was one of the best because of Gavin. We were so lucky to get to meet Gavin. After a hard day a work, I would go to soccer or basketball practice and that funny little guy always put a smile on my face. Looking at his photo, I can hear his throaty chuckle and it makes me smile all over again. He will be missed.
