L. Duane Holte
He was born September 16, 1921 in Rugh Township, ND, where he graduated from Aneta High School. He served in WWII on the U.S.S. Louisville and the U.S.S. New Jersey from 1940 to 1946, achieving the rank of Chief Turret Captain.
Duane retired from Alderwood Water District in 1984.
He was involved in many organizations, including Robert Burns Lodge #243; Royal Arch Mason #61; Walter F. Meier Council #22; and Royal and Select Masters, Alderwood Chapter OES #185.
Duane enjoyed hunting, fishing and all types of sports.
Duane was married to Jean Hill March 4, 1950 at the Edmonds Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ida Holte.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; sons, Ralph (Pam), Chuck (Lisa) and Mick (Heidi); eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, Al Holte.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 15, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills.
Memorial donations may be made to the Royal Arch Masons, Children's Heart Foundation, Inc., PO Box 223, Marysville, WA 98270.

It has been 10 years that Duane been in the Lords House. We still remember Duane for always lending a helping hand. A few friends from the Chiwawa Community has since then joined Duane in the House of the Almighty Lord and soon we all be taken up and will be reunited forever. What a day that will be.
