Margery Torrence Obituary

Margery "Micki" Frances Torrence

Margery "Micki" Frances Torrence went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 28, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.
Micki was born to Herman and Ernestine Bouma in Lynden, Washington on January 8, 1929 and was the fourth child of five with brother, Floyd; sisters, Leone and Ruth; and a younger brother, John.
On January 11, 1947 she married Eugene Torrence and had nine children, Steven (Nancy), Leone St. Clair, Susan (Vic) Santie, Jane (Steve) McMahon, Ann, George (deceased), Jon (Sue), Dan (Katherine) and Eric (Sonya). Gene and Micki lived in their Lynnwood, WA home for 55 years. She had twenty-two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all who were a source of great joy and pride. She will be missed more than mere words can ever say!
Besides her great love for family, Micki had a zest for gardening and her flowers and yard were always spectacular! She also supported the Sujay Welfare Society and Grace House in India for many years through Lacemaker lace sales and her yearly yard and plant sale.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynnwood, with visitation one half hour prior in the Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Following at 1:00 p.m., a memorial service celebrating her life will be held at the Everett First Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Leone St. Clair for the Sujay Welfare Society.

We are so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Dan and Katherine have shared some family stories with us over the years and I think I have even benefited from a plant or two from moms garden....
With our sincere condolences
