Austins Family, Our hearts and prayers go out to you during this very difficult time. My daughter Haylie went to both Elger Bay Elementary and SMS with Austin. Haylie did not know Austin very well but said he was a very nice boy. She was sad to hear of Austin passing. I have known Vicki since Haylie and Austins cousin Hunter were in Kindergarten. Our hearts are breaking for your family over your loss. You will be in our thoughts and prayers!!

Becki and family, we are so saddened by the loss of Austin. The service on Friday and the gathering after were wonderfully done. We know Austin was there with us in spirit. We wish we could do more to comfort you, but there are no words or amount of hugs that will make it all better. Just know that we are here and happy to help with things if we can. We were so saddened by the news of Austin. Our son Casey and he were great friends for quite some time. He is very saddened. Austin wrote a note to Casey in about 3rd grade on a notebook card that says "Casey, you are a really nice boy and a great friend". We have had in on our fridge for all these years. He is thankful we have held on to it. He wants you to know that Austin was a good friend also and that he will always remember the fun times they shared together. He was a special person. He will remain in our hearts.

I was so saddened to hear of Austin's passing, and your family has been in my thoughts. I only knew Austin for a short time here at SMS, but he made an impression with his kind heart and wonderful wit and humor. He will most certainly be missed and fondly remembered.

Having known Austin for more than three years at Elger Bay Elementary, it is with the utmost sadness that I write today. Austin was one of those rare students who touched my heart in so many ways - his sense of humor, his kindness and gentleness, his persistence, his pride in his family - all of these coupled with a keen wit. Becki and family...
I can't imagine the pain you are going through. Just know God has his arms wrapped around Austin, and you will be with him again. Austin will forever be your guardian angel. Every night my boys and I have been praying for you and your family. I work with your sister Vicki and just know the communities of Camano Island and Stanwood will be here to support you. We pray time will heal your hearts.

My son, Tyler knew Austin from school since they had friends in the same circle. Tyler shared with me that he was a really kind, friendly kid who was fun to hang out with at school. When he heard the news, he recounted when he last saw him and what a surprise this was to him. We cannot imagine what your family is going through, but certainly our hearts and prayers go out to you in this time of loss.

Our daughter went to school with Austin and he was a very dear friend to her, she talked about him every day (so much so, that we all felt like we knew him). She said he had such a great sense of humor, he made her laugh all the time. He was a young gentleman, who carried her backpack and walked her home from school once (even though it was out of his way). He stood-up for her, whenever anyone was rude and she looked forward to seeing him at school each day. It broke our hearts to hear of this tragedy. He will be sorely missed and always remembered. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
