Frances Mae Porter Howse

Frances Mae Porter Howse, 70, of Lake Stevens, Washington, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 4:36 p.m. at Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington.
Frances was born on October 24, 1940, the daughter of George and Cecilia Lewiski Porter, in rural Oconee. She attended various country schools and graduated from Nokomis High School in 1958. She was a telephone operator for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for several years. In 1963 she married Glenn M. Howse of Assumption. In 1968 they moved to the Seattle area where they both worked for Boeing, Inc. Her husband, Glenn, passed away in May, 2000. She loved to read and do crosswords and liked to watch cooking shows on TV and of course loved her family more than anything.
Surviving are her son, Glenn M. Howse, Jr., Lake Stevens, WA; brothers, Paul E. Porter and wife, Norma, Nokomis, IL; Gerald A. Porter and wife, Ruth, Pana, IL, Albert W. Porter and wife, Norma, Oconee, IL, Richard N. Porter, Centralia, IL; and Jackson L. Porter and wife, Connie, Herrick, IL; sisters, Thelma J. Erickson, Nokomis, IL, Irma D. Shuff and husband, Charles, Tower Hill, IL; Rose I. Brown and husband, Danny, Oconee, and Ann Smith and husband, Bill, Ramsey, IL; 20 nieces; and nephews; 19 great nieces and nephews; and three great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Murvin L. Porter.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2011 at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, 1615 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett, WA, 98208.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in Frances' name to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Arrangements are being made by Purdy & Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home in Everett.
