Jacqueline Iseman Obituary

Jacqueline C. Iseman

Jackie Iseman passed away peacefully at her home with her family present in Bellevue, WA on March 13, 2011.
She was born in Pierre, South Dakota on May 5, 1939 and was raised in Philip, South Dakota. She attended Augustana Academy in Canton, South Dakota before going to Augustana College in Sioux Falls, where she met Jerry Iseman. They were married on June 22, 1958 in Sioux Falls. During the nine years they spent between Sioux Falls, Grand Forks, North Dakota and Aberdeen, South Dakota, her four sons were born: Jeff, Jay, Joel and Jon. In 1967, the family moved to the Pacific Northwest. In 1969, their daughter Jennifer was born.
Jackie's priority was raising her family and all the activity that went along with that. Her faith in Christ was woven throughout her life. In addition to being a full-time wife and mother, she always made time to nurture relationships, whether it was through Bible studies and small groups at church or by opening her home to friends and neighbors.
Her last 20+ years were spent impacting future generations. She loved her 13 grandchildren lavishly and unconditionally, providing them with an example of God's love and grace. Being involved in their lives and seeing them grow up brought her constant joy. She also invested herself in mentoring young mothers through her involvement with MOPS (Mothers-of-Preschoolers) and Apples of Gold where she supported, encouraged and prayed over many women. Jackie leaves behind a legacy of faith and love that blessed her family, friends and everyone she came in contact with.
Jackie is survived by her sister, Jeanne Orr; brother, Jon W. (Bill) Sandal and his wife Karyl; son, Jeff; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Tracee; son, Joel; son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Wendy; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and John Colver; thirteen grandchildren, Cortney, Kayleigh, Jon Jr.("JJ"), Aaron, Alexandra, Patric, Karleanne, Kassandra, Jon ("Jack"), Gerald, Joshua, Janelle and Jaden; and many other cousins, nephews, nieces and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents, John and Ida Sandal; and her sister, Betty Breeding.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Center Foursquare Church, 6830 Highland Drive, Everett.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home, 1702 Pacific Avenue, Everett.
Remembrances may be made to Young Life, P.O. Box 3487, Everett, WA 98213-8487.

Jennifer,
So sorry for your loss. We lost our mom 3 yrs. ago, and I'd love to tell you it gets easier, but it doesn't. But it does hurt less, and the laughs from memories come more often then tears. Prayers are with you and your family. I feel your loss.

Dear Iseman Family,
I first meet your mom when we lived across the street from each other in North Ridge. I always knew there was something special about her even as a child. That something was the Holy Spirit shining through her. The last time I saw her was at the Vandall's 50th wedding anniversary. I talked to her for a long time about the Lord and my son Hummody. She was a wonderful woman. A true inspiration to me and many others. She will be missed. Warmly, Julie Robinett Smith

Jackie has been a long-time friend and inspiration to my mother and myself. Her faith and joy were truly refreshing. She was such a vessel of the Lord's peace; a short visit with her left one feeling that a touch had been passed straight from Him.
May you, her family, be comforted, upheld, and refreshed by that same peace, as I am knowing that our mom's are both now dancing before our God. Blessings to you.

Dear Iseman family, I was shocked to see this in the paper, I know I haven't seen you in years, but I have many fond memories of you all growing up at the ski cabin. Your mother was always one of my favorites and I am sorry we had lost contact. My prayers are with you all. Pat Cobb
