Richard Harrison Obituary

Richard J. Harrison

Richard J. Harrison, 83, passed away on May 11, 2011 in Everett, WA. Richard was born on July 4, 1927 in Silvana, WA. He proudly served in the Army during the Korean War and worked line construction for 40 years, retiring after 25 years with the Snohomish County PUD. He was a long-standing member of the Madison Community Church. Richard's love of fishing was well known and he would never turn away an opportunity to share his passion with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie, of 53 years; and four loving daughters, Julie, Beverly, Barbara and Joanne along with their spouses; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He will always be in our hearts!
The family wishes to express our heart-felt thanks to Sunrise View Convalescent Center staff for their loving care of our Dad.
Purdy and Walters with Cassidy (purdy-walters-cassidy.com) will be handling the funeral arrangements.
A private graveside burial will be held at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park. A celebration of Richard's life will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on June 18, 2011 at Madison Community Church, 6900 Wetmore Avenue in Everett.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that a donation be made in Richard's memory to the charity of your choice.

My mom, Lena Mae, and Hank had so many good times together with Dick and Bessie. I'm so sorry to hear of Dicks passing. Mom has gotten to the point where I hesitate to mention the death of her friends. So I haven't, yet. I know she would be terribly upset. I am glad that she was able to visit Bessie the week before the loss of Dick. They hadn't seen each other since Bessie's stroke. It was a good visit, although Mom doesn't talk much anymore. They did visit a little, then she listened to Bessie and I visit. I am thinking about you all during this tough time.
