Bruce Daniel Keane
Bruce Daniel Keane, 87, passed to be with his Lord Jesus on April 6, 2011 in Stanwood, WA.
He was born to Daniel and Alice Keane on January 8, 1924. Bruce graduated from Quilcene High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon return, he married Noreen Northup and spent three years at the University of Washington before transferring to Washington State University to complete his degree in 1950.
Bruce was a high school industrial arts teacher in Prosser, WA and Granger, WA before going to work for the VA as a manual arts therapist. He worked at the VA hospitals, American Lake (Lakewood, WA); Excelsior Springs, MO; Buffalo, NY. While in Buffalo, he received his master's degree from SUNY at Buffalo. He then transferred to the Washington D.C. headquarters where he first audited hospitals then worked as a hospital construction planner. He finished his career back at American Lake as an administrative consultant, retiring in 1984.
In retirement, he moved to Warm Beach Senior Community where he and Noreen were very active volunteers between many trips around the nation in their motorhome. Bruce was a hardworking, faithful, loving man of God who helped everyone he could with his many craftsman skills, especially his family.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 65 years in October of 2010; daughters, Laura Keane in 1957 and Barbara Keane in 2006; great-granddaughter, Taylor Aasen in October of 2010; and sister, Florence Herbert in 1968.
Surviving Bruce is his son, Daniel (Margie) Keane of Stanwood; grandchildren, Andrew (Tiffany) Keane of Belen, NM, Kristin (Gerad) Aasen of Stanwood, Timothy Keane of Normandy Park, WA, Jonathan Keane of Stanwood and Annie Keane of Stanwood; and great-grandchildren, Emery Aasen, MacKenzie Aasen and Bastian Keane.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Avenue, Arlington, WA.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Anderson Cemetery, 27001 88th Avenue NW, Stanwood, WA.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fireside Room of Beachwood at Warm Beach Senior Community, 20420 Marine Drive, Stanwood. WA.
Memorial donations may be made to the Warm Beach Senior Community.
