Hugo Magnusson Obituary


Hugo Alvie Magnusson

Hugo Alvie Magnusson, 92, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 in Arlington, WA. He was born to Neal and Helen Magnusson July 10, 1918 in Somers, MT. Hugo served in Pacific Theater in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war he worked in the Bremerton Naval Shipyard until he retired in 1973. He was a very active wood carver and jewelry maker. Hugo enjoyed gardening and traveling where his favorite journey was to New Zealand. He was also an active member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Hugo was an outgoing, strong, faithful, caring and loving husband.
Preceding him in death were his sisters, Olive Hoppe, in 1972, and Margaret Rorvik, in 2003.
Hugo is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Malena Magnusson, of Arlington; nephew, Alvin Rorvik, of Seattle, WA; and niece, Janice Porter, of Buckley, WA.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2011 at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Ave., Arlington, WA 98223.
