Barney,
I will miss you dearly. You have left a mark on my heart forever. I remember all the times you came into the Timberline when I worked there, and picked on me. Oh, and the BBQ pork sandwiches you made for me. You were always such a humble, selfless person and I will never forget you. I'm sure you will be loved just as much where you are now. Love Jennifer and Walter

We just recently learned of Barney's passing. Our condolences to his family and close friends.
Halloween in Granite Falls will not be the same without Barney. My kids have fond memories of Barney coming to school during this time of year...."no candy for Barney"....and on Halloween they would both look for Barney patrolling the streets and passing out sacks full of goodies with no candy :D
He did a lot for our community and our kids; he will be missed.
Thanks for the memories Barney! You were a true hero.

Barney was a true community servant who was loved by everyone. The children in G.F. knew him and will also miss his cheerful smile. Thank you for so many selfless years of service.

Barny,Thank you for your service to our town & country. I knew that when I would walk out my door in the morning to go to work you,9 out of 10 times were driving through my neighborhood. You even handed my daughter a warning notice one day when she was dropping off our grandson. I warned her about parking on the wrong side of the street...that Barny was due to come through any minute!! And then...there you were!
Rest in Peace my friend...
You will not be forgotten!
Sincerely,
Tim Arnold & Family

My condolences to the family and really, to all of us. Barny was one of those rare souls who touch everyone around them. Too bad we don't really appreciate these qualities until they're taken from us.

Our sincere sympathy to the family. You will never really know how truly missed Barney will be within our community. He had a very big impact on the people here. Always had a smile no matter how much pain he was in and always had time for conversation and genuine caring for all of us. He was a big part of our lives, and I only wish that we could have been there for his service. Barney will truly be missed but we are compassionate to the fact that he will no longer be in pain. Sincerely The Ashton Family

Thank you for your dedication to the community of Granite Falls.
I know that the students in the Elementary schools always enjoyed your visits on or around Halloween when they were told "no candy for Barney" they loved it. I am sure they will always have that sweet memory as will I.
Rest in peace Barney... you deserve it.

I did not get to know him very well but I did hear wonderful stories abou him from my mother. I always wished there was more time in this world. I always wanted to go back to Granite Falls and ride the lawnmower again. I know he is in a wonderful place now and my mom is showing him around. Love, Ilene Wilson Jones and family Pearl, MS

You were always a big part of our family, and touched our lives with great impact. Over the years and turn of events you were the only one that always come by the house and checked on Amber and I. Your words of encouragement and reassuring us that we did all we could do were very valuable! For that Barny we will always be grateful and appreciated your true kindness and love! My wife and I have known Barny for many years. I worked along Barny as a Granite Falls Police Officer and our friendship continued when I moved onto Lake Stevens.
Barny and I had a bond as U. S. Navy veteran's and I will always remember our stories of the adventures he and I experienced in the military.
My wife Paula got to know Barny when he did his visits to the Navy base where she works. Barny would always make it a point to stop and chat with her. She would always come home and tell me she saw Barny and he asked how I was doing.
What I will probably remember the most is a man that committed himself to public service. Barny did it with kindness and committment. I'd hear Barny go into service with that crackling voice and it would always bring a smile to my face.
I will never forget you Barny. You left an impression on me that will last forever. Thanks for being you and being a friend to all of us.
I salute you Shipmate, permission to go ashore, you deserve it!
Sincerely,
Bob Summers

I was fortunate to meet Barny when I arrived in Granite Falls to work with a great bunch of guys and gals. Barny was there almost everyday to meet with me and make me feel like part of the family. He was a true professional in everything he did and I am honored that we became friends.
Even after I left and returned to my department, Barny always came by to say hello and bring some of his famous bbq sandwiches, because he knew I couldn't resist a great lunch.
I will truly miss your wit, smile, dedication and giving nature you always displayed. Rest in peace my friend knowing you served your fellow man very well.

I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Barney for several years. I am confident I have never known and will never meet a more caring, hard working, loyal, dedicated person. Words cannot describe or give Barney the credit he deserves. He is a true friend and I will never forget what he has done for me as well as the community of Granite Falls.
Rest in peace my friend and you can be sure if I need anything I will give you a growl. Thanks for all you have done as your hard work, dedication, loyalty, and giving nature did not go unnoticed.
You will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing you. We have lost a true HERO and one I will never forget.
Sincerely,
Tony Domish
