Raymond Daley Obituary

Raymond Joseph Daley

Raymond Joseph Daley, 82, died at his home of 27 years in Marysville, WA, on Sunday, May 15, 2011, while surrounded by his loving family.
"Ray" was the middle child of Buchanan and Hazel (Brown) Daley. He was born February 23, 1929 in Castle Rock, WA.
He married Mary Inez May Kerns on November 15, 1948 in Caldwell, ID. He was the proud father of Michael, born 1950 (married to Darline Rogers) Denver, CO; Gary, born 1951 (died 1968), Dennis, born 1952 (died 1995), Terry, born 1954 (died 2009), Gaylene, born 1955 (married to Ron Thiele) Anchorage, AK, and Daniel, born 1957, Marysville, WA, and the equally proud grandfather of, Dr. Shawn Michael Edward Daley; Dale, David, Katie, and Gary Daley; Denise (Buchanan), Ronald, and Raymond Thiele; and Deanna, Jessica, and Desiree Daley; Angela Griffin; and Daniel Wheeler.
Preceded by father (1972), mother (1995), brother Vernon (2002), sister Winona (2001).
Preceded by best friends Doug Lefler, John Tanis, Lee Goldman, Jerry Drury, George Donahue, and numerous others.
He is survived by his sisters, Doris Goble and Helen (Donald) Langei; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best buddy, Big Boy.
Ray was a dedicated father and provider and worked a variety of jobs from early childhood until his retirement from Boeing in 1991. He worked on many of the Minuteman missile sites throughout the country and felt great pride in helping secure the safety of his country. Upon his return to Boeing's Everett plant, he completed his 36 year career with Boeing in Facility Management.
He was known as a stubborn man, but for all his stubbornness, he also brought happiness into the world and his deep belly laughs will never be forgotten. He was a friend that could be counted on, a husband that gave strength and love, and a father that could always be relied upon. And is already greatly missed!
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 at 5 p.m. at the Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville.
