Carl Francis Romei

Carl Francis Romei, age 82, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, April 12, 2011, in Edmonds, WA, to join his "girl from Ipanema."
He was born in Seattle, WA on December 15, 1928 to Carlo Romei and Maria Dini. He was a graduate of Seattle Prep in 1946, continuing his education at Seattle University. Carl married Reita Paulsen in 1951 and they enjoyed 58 years of happiness together.
One of Carl's great loves was his daily walk through Woodway and Edmonds, "inspecting" roads, sidewalks, trees and any new building or construction of any kind. He loved golfing, working in his yard, and was a tremendous fisherman. Carl has always had a great love for music and singing. He was a member of The Italian Club of Seattle, and served as the clubs president in 1995. A long time member of the Seattle Serra Club, and founding member of the Sno King Serra Club. Carl was also a member of the Holy Rosary Church Renew Group, and was very devoted to his faith. Carl was a Wire Rope Salesman for most of his adult life, and loved what he did. He adored his grandchildren, and children, and committed his life to his family and friends.
Carl is survived by sons, Christopher Romei (Carrie) and Stefan Romei (Susan); daughter, Robin Sloate (John); sisters, Imelda Romei and Esther Romei; grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him.
A visitation will begin at 5 p.m. followed by a Recitation of the Rosary at 7p.m. Monday, April 18, at Beck's Funeral Home, 405 5th Avenue S, Edmonds. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 630 7th Avenue N, Edmonds. A reception is immediately following the Funeral Mass at Holy Rosary, followed by the Committal at Calvary Cemetery, 5041-35th Avenue NE, Seattle.

Build thee more stately mansions,
