Thank you Gayle: I was pleased to read your thoughts & rememberances of my Grandparents. I visited there many times and don't know if I met you.
I hope there are others that will put messages on the guestbook.

Thank you for placing Claire's obituary in the St. Helens newpaper. I grew up next door to Claire and Lena's parents when they lived in St. Helens and had the pleasure of knowing Claire and George. Reading Claire's obituary just brought back so many great memories I have of my visits with Claire and George when they came to visit her parents Willy and Bertha Thomen. I used to set in Willy and Bertha's living room and listen to Willy yodel when I was little. When I was big enough to run a lawnmower I used to mow there lawn for them. I would always go over and visit Claire and George when they came to see her parents. In later years my son lived with my parents and he too mowed there yard. I remember Claire telling me not to worry if my son was 7 when he started first grade because it would be better for him and she was so right. The last time I talked with Claire was right after George passed away and I am so sorry that I didn't keep in touch. I didn't realize that Claire was born in 1910. My parents were born in 1912 and 1914. My parents passed away 42 days apart in 2000. I am so sorry for your loss, she was a beautiful person.

Thank you Kathleen and Nora for your kind words. Claire was my only Aunt and such a special one. We brought her to WA in 2000 and she lived with us for six years. She was 22 when I was born and has been a part of my life for many many years. Nancy Berard

Mrs. Crook was my first grade teacher at Oakridge Elementary in 1967. She taught all four of the Farrier kids over the years and we all loved her as a teacher and as a person. The last time I saw her was at my older brother's wedding at the Methodist church in Oakridge and she still remembered all of us! It was so wonderful to see her again after so many years. She was a very special teacher and friend and I will remember her always.

Hello! I am so glad that you chose to have Mrs. Crook's notice printed in the Eugene paper....thank you! She was my first grade teacher (1956-57), and I have often thought of her with fond memories. Having no idea of her age, I wondered if she was still living. She treated me especially nice (I think I was the teacher's pet that year). She sometimes would keep only me in the classroom, go and get the other teachers, and show them something I could do! My family (Rogers) left Oakridge after my second grade year, and I treasure the class photo that I have with her standing with us. (I am the tallest child in the photo.) It was a pleasure reading about her life. I am sorry for your loss. I will continue to remember her with much warmth and affection.
