Walter was such a lovely man, it was so good for PJ, (RIP) and I to have him and Christine stay in our house in Limerick, Ireland. They were always so kind to us when we visited Seattle and so good to Patrick, Cora and Shona. Sincere condolences to dear Christine, Peter, Rebecca, Victoria and extended family. As part of Walts English family we all extend our deepest sympathy. On many visits to the US Walt and Chris extended us great hospitality and various walks and climbs around the washington countryside, these will always stay in our memories. Walt was always keen to pass on his extensive knowledge and experience and took great pleasure himself in this kindly act. He acted as hotelier, tour guide, driver and encyclopidia and suffered our English sense of humour and our noisey children with great patience. He will be greatly missed by all on both sides of the pond..

I am shocked and deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Buck Sellers. I have known him for over 60 years and admired his athletic prowess, his leadership in the Delt house at Whitman, and his leadership in Boy Scouts. However it was his sense of fair play and joyful spirit that I will remember the most. He was a hero to me when I needed one to emulate. He is a special man. I will miss him deeply.

Walter(always Buck to me)was friend not only at Edmonds Hhghschool, but also for four years at Whitman. I was fortunate enough to be on the recieving end of many of his perfectly thrown passes while at Edmonds. Buck may have been one of the most natural athletes that I have ever seen as all sports came easy to him. He had tremendous quickness as well as being just plain smart. My last fond memory of Buck was when he delivered the most thoughtful eulogy for Ron Crawford at our 45th reunion at Whitman, the most touching that I have ever heard. I once heard it said that we are on this earth as long as we are remembered, if that is the case Buck will be here for a long time.

I knew Buck for over fifty years. We spent our high school years together in Edmonds, graduating in 1956. After high school the world opened to a large menu of adventure for each of us and we chose different courses. Mine was fun, but not always wise. Buck"s was always wise. He finished college, became an officer in the U.S. Navy, and saw the world. After the navy he enrolled in law school, met a pert English gal who became his wife, and returned to Edmonds to hang his shingle, live and raise a family.
We would meet from time to time over the years, both socially and in an attorney/client relationship. I did not know his wife, we had met and talked maybe a half dozen times. But when I did meet her, I knew their marriage was a perfect mix. I never met their children. I saw their son play high school football, and he like his father was a marvelous athlete.
Not having met their children I can only suspect that they are more outgoing like their mother. I say this only because many years ago, while sitting in Buck"s office I was lamenting the fact that i missed having young chioldren, since mine were now in their teens. Buck looked up from his note taking and said, " I can get you three today".
Their house I'm sure was a riot and a lot of fun.
A number of years ago when our son died, I wrote a poem in Haiku form and had it cast on his grave marker:
My faith lets me know
That I will see you again
Please make a tee time
I know that we all will see Buck again.

Walt was a magnificent man and lawyer. Although we are saddened by his passing, he is in a much better place.
Chris, and family, we pray for the happy repose if his soul, and for your peace and consolation.

From the 5th through high school Buck was my closest friend. His mother and father, Rose and Larry, were like second parents and treated me like a son whenever I visited Buck. Buck was a real leader in school class offices, sports, Scouts and almost every activity he participated in. In sports he was usually the teams captain and star. In school offices he was class Vice President throughout most of grade school and high school. In boy scouts he achieved the highest award of Eagle Scout. His love for the wild outdoors came from his dad. Larry was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He was the one who gave Walter the nickname Buck after his first stag deer. After high school our paths took different directions. Buck went to Whitman College, became an officer in the US Navy with a tour in Antartica and then law school and a practice in Edmonds. Buck's marriage to Christine was a match made in heaven and was the happiest time in his life that I had ever witnessed. I have and will continue to miss the close friendship we had and my heart goes out to his family. To his children, grandchildren and all that follow let it be known that your ancestor, Walter Campbell Sellers, made his mark during his lifetime and that mark had a positive affect on the lives of those he knew. You can be very proud of his accomplishments.

We visited Walter and Chris in September 2004. Walter organised three great trips to show us some of the wonders of the Pacific North West. A deep love of the mountains and coast of his homeland matched his love for his wife and family of whom he was so proud. We remember him with the greatest respect and love. His spirit will roam the mountains forever.

What a great loss. We all grew up together in Edmonds and I considered him a great person to know. He was a great attorney as well and worked with me on a number of things. We will miss him. From the entire Phillips Family, Scooter, Dukie, Mary and Ward

Although Buck graduated 4 years after me, I knew him from the time he entered grade school. He was such a neat person and fun to be around, besides being a very good athlete. I always considered him to be a good friend, and I'll miss him very much.
