Margaret Ingram Obituary

January 22, 1925-April 27, 2016 If you're reading this, it means I've passed on to another life where I can share my wisdom and tales of great adventures. I was born in Belfast, N Ireland and was one of eight children, born to Joseph and Mary Ellen "Molly" McCullough. With brothers, older and younger, and a sister, I had many adventures, as well as misadventures, growing up. I worked as a bookkeeper before marrying D Alex Ingram in June, 1949. Oh my, our life did change after he completed his engineering degree and we moved to Derby, England. Life became a whirlwind of activity with the birth of twin daughters and then a son. We immigrated to Montreal, Quebec before moving to Denver, Colorado. It was here that we were blessed with another daughter and our family was complete. We became firmly planted when we moved to Washington state. We had the mountains on one side of us and the salt water on the other. After we became empty nesters, we pursued our dream of owning a boat. We tried sail boats and several tug boats but it was the Nordic Tug that became our boat of choice. We were able to take it out in the salt water and be gone for weeks at a time, much to the consternation of the adult children. Perhaps we could have checked in a bit more frequently but the sea kept calling and dragging us away to other ports. Three brothers and their wives survive me in England, as well as my children; Lesley (John) Ness, Elspeth (Cris) Morgan, Michael (Barb) Ingram and Alison (Tom) Hauck; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. At my request, there'll be no service and the suggestion that any donations be made to a charity of your choice. "Mothers hold their children's hands for just a little while... And their hearts forever."
