Alan Schmaus Obituary

Alan V. Schmaus "Bumpsey"
April 25, 1930 - Dec. 26, 2010

Dad was born in Sisseton, SD to Joe and Elda Schmaus.
He leaves behind his loving companion, Elaine DeArman; children, Robin Schmaus, Joe Schmaus, Heidi Babic and Alana Musch; and Suzanne Schechter and Rip Palmer, his two stepchildren. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; and his sister, Ruth Sherman of Spokane, WA.
Bumpsey was a wonderful caring father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He taught all of his children the value of a good day's work and to be thoughtful of others. He also taught us to visit someone who matters to you and show them that you care. Dad spent three years in the Army. He married Doris Brown and they moved to Seattle to raise their family. Dad was a hod carrier by trade and also owned several businesses in his younger years.
We will remember him in his recliner, relaxed back with a toothpick in his mouth, watching the Mariner games. Dad was a sweet and loving man to the very end. He was deeply loved and is truly missed.

"Any man can be a Father, but it takes someone
special to be a Dad."
