Alvin Eidson Obituary
Alvin R. Eidson Sr.
Al served as a firefighter in the USAF in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, retiring after 20 years. He also retired following 20 years of service for The Everett Herald. Al married Grace E. Duffy on May 5, 1952. Together they had seven children. Al was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his later years he met daily with his mall-walking friends and his Barnes & Noble Book club in Kennewick, WA.
Al was proceeded in death by his wife, Grace E. Eidson; twin brother, Allen L. Eidson; and his grandsons, Brandon J. Leland and Aaron M. Zentz.
He is survived by his brother, Charles Eidson; his children, Valerie A. Wagner (Fred), Alvin R. Eidson Jr. (Kori), Victoria M. Springer (Rob), James B. Eidson, Laura P.J. Leland (Brian), Damon A. Eidson (Kim), and Tracy M.A. Zentz (Dave); grandchildren, Paul D. Antinoro, Elizabeth G. Mason (Don), Heather N. Eidson, Kristine M. Springer, Stephanie A. Springer, Jennifer M. Springer, Jonathan T. Pitt (Alison), Patrick Eidson; Jason N. Eidson, Michael D. Zentz; his great grandchildren: Jasmine Antinoro, Aedden Antinoro, Lilly Antinoro, Christian Mason, Gavin Mason, Dallas Eidson and Parker Pitt.
Memorial service with full military honors will be held at Einan's Funeral Home in Richland, WA on January 24, at 1:00 p.m. with refreshments to follow. Graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Everett, WA on January 26, at 1:00 p.m. with a dinner to follow at the home of Beverly Gobin. Al requested that instead of flowers, please send donations to
