Ardis Ann Vier

Ardis Ann Vier, age 78, passed away on April 5, 2011 in Yuma, Arizona. Ardis was born February 22, 1933 in Birdsview, Washington to Glendon Bust and Charlott (King) Bust. Ardis was the second born of three daughters with oldest sister, Alma Glenrose, and younger sister, Donna Charlene. Ardis graduated in 1951 from Concrete High School and later attended Everett Community College and majored in Cosmetology to begin her career as a beautician.
Ardis was married to Larry David Vier on October 14, 1951 in Yuma, Arizona. Ardis and Larry later moved to Granite Falls, WA where she lived out her life and raised her family. Ardis gave birth to three children, Sharr Lou Ann Vier, David Peter Vier and Michael Scott Vier. Dean Scott Running was brought into the family at age 16 and has truly been part of the family all his life. For the past 18 years, Ardis and Larry spent the winter months in Yuma, where they enjoyed a wonderful community of friends. They would return in summer months to their homestead in Washington. Mom had a heart for kids and worked with the school to clothe children in need.
Ardis is survived by her husband of 59 years; her sons, Dean Running and Pete Vier; her sister, Glenrose Williams; nieces and nephews, Glen MacDonald, of Seattle, WA, Gordon MacDonald, of Sultan, WA, Kelly Macomber, of Mt. Vernon, WA and Shelly (Macomber) Clark, of Spokane, WA.
Ardis is preceded in death by her mother, Charlott Bust; father, Glen Bust; sister, Donna Macomber; daughter, Sharr Lou Ann Vier; son, Michael Scott Vier; and niece, Colleen Marie Macomber-Kane.
A celebration of her life is planned to be held in Yuma, Arizona and later this spring in Granite Falls, WA.
The Family would like to thank everyone for the calls of support.

Larry, Pete, & Dean, I am very sorry for your loss. The thing about neighbors is, you may not see them for years, but you always know they will be there for you if you need them. As a neighbor and classmate of Pete and Dean's, you hold a special place in my heart. I smile when I think of Ardis riding around mowing the grass on the riding lawn mower. What a cutie. Take care.
