Arlene Anderson Obituary

Arlene LaBelle Anderson
Aug. 24, 1929 - June 3, 2011

Arlene LaBelle Anderson was born and raised on a farm in Brinsmade, ND. She was the oldest of three daughters born to Chester and Naomi White.
Arlene passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011 from complications occurring after heart bypass surgery.
Arlene attended school in Brinsmade and graduated from Minnewaukan High School in ND, after which time she worked for the office of the State's Attorney in the city of Minnewaukan. She eventually married her high school sweetheart, U.S. Army Sergeant Allan O. Anderson ("Andy") in 1950 in Fort Dix, NJ. They spent one week in New York City as a honeymoon after which time Andy returned to Europe for a year and Arlene to North Dakota.
Andy's Army career spanned 20 years, as they served in Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Japan, Germany, Korea and Viet Nam. They eventually retired to Washington State, living in the city of Marysville. Arlene worked at the Bank of Everett for ten years and later, at Word Of Life Lutheran Brethren Church, as a member and church secretary for approximately 20 years. The love of her life, Andy, passed on in 1984, leaving a multitude of wonderful memories Arlene was eager to remember and recount.
"Mom", as she was affectionately called by her children, loved God with fervor, loved her family with a true mother's countenance, and enjoyed people immensely, never meeting a stranger, and forever cultivating long and rich relationships. She enjoyed doing and helping. Even her time in her hospital bed in the last days became a witness to all of her enduring love of God, family, people and service.
She is now resting and rejoicing in Heaven; a place she has prepared herself for all her life. She is loved and will be missed.
Arlene is survived by her children in order of birth, Linda, Douglas and Sonja, Linda and Bernie Travers, Doug and JoD Anderson, and Sonja and Larry Butler; Arlene's granddaughter, Jenae and her husband Jon Hart gave Arlene three great-grandchildren, Kadimay, Audrey and Hunter Hart. Arlene also had numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends. She is also survived by her sisters, Bonnie and husband Tony Bundy, and Loretta and husband James Wallace and their children.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Word Of Life Lutheran Brethren Church, 9028 51st Avenue NE, Marysville, WA

So sad for your loss, Arlene was a very special friend. We had a long conversation just a day or so before her surgery and planned to visit after she was released from the hospital. She loved her family and I know how she will be missed. We send love and prayers.
