Barbara Anne Valencia
Barbara Prague-Valencia passed away quietly Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the age of 67. She lived a very full life with her devoted husband, Fred, of 47 years. Barbara was born in Spokane, WA July 7, 1945.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Edna (Schmidt) Prague-Bosch and Chester Sidney Prague.
She will be greatly missed by her two children, Laura Lynn Valencia-Eschrich (Jim) and Tim Valencia (Pam). Additionally, Barbara is survived by her brother, Richard Harry Prague; and three grandchildren, Elise Suzanne Eschrich, Rylan Jared Eschrich and Anthony Tyler Ossinger.
Barbara enjoyed traveling, spoiling her grandchildren, buying jewelry and clothes, visiting with friends and eating chocolate. As a dedicated, critical care nurse for over 30 years, Barbara was caring, hardworking, and overwhelmingly generous. You could always count on her quick wit for a good laugh. Barbara will always be remembered by her friends and family for her independent ways and the many lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Spokane, WA, 2404 North Howard St. 99205. A local celebration of her life has already been held. Her cremains will be laid to rest later on with her parents at Pines Cemetery as per her wishes.
Barbara graduated from Deaconess Nursing School and in lieu of flowers would like to support their scholarship fund. Donations in remembrance of Barbara can be sent to Deaconess Alumni Association, c/o Patsy Keller, 12210 South Harvard Road, Rockford, WA 99030.
