Barbara Nord Obituary

Barbara Carol Nord

Barbara, 65, died in her home on January 16, 2011 from cancer. She expressed her life in service for others and had a generous heart.
Barbara was an airline hostess when she met her future husband, Frederick Nord. They built their home and raised their two children in Forest Lake, MN. Barbara was a loving, playful, beautiful mother and homemaker.
In 1991, Barb and Fred relocated to Washington State.
Barbara was a licensed masseuse, scuba diver, yoga practitioner, master gardener and she rode a motor cycle her entire adult life. We are filled with grief at her passing.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Frederick Nord, of Mukilteo, WA; mother, Ginny Huff, of Milwaukie, Oregon; uncle, Paul Huff, of Renton Washington; daughter, Kathryn Nord MacKinnon (Starr MacKinnon); son, Dallas Nord; grandson, Zayden MacKinnon; sisters, Kate Staples, of Portland, OR; and Sherry Tomlinson, of Anchorage, AK; as well as friends in both the Seattle, WA area and Forest Lake, MN.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Huff.
A small gathering was held on January 29, at the Nord's Home.
Contributions in Barbara's name may be made to Healing the Children; One Child at a Time; Commonweal; or Make a Wish.
