Beverly Dobson Obituary

Beverly A. Dobson

Beverly A. Dobson, long-time resident of Everett, WA, passed away in the wee hours of the morning of January 20, 2011.
Bev was born in North Dakota in 1931. The family moved to the Northwest while she was still a baby and Bev graduated from Everett High School in 1949. While attending Everett Junior College, Bev shared the stage in a performance of Right You Are! (If You Think So) with Eugene Dobson. The two married in the summer of 1953. Bev finished her college degree at the UW the following quarter, earning membership in the Phi Beta Kappa honorary society. A journalism major, Bev put her skills to work at EJC, later Everett Community College, serving as public information officer for many years.
Bev and Gene retired in 1991 and enjoyed the opportunity to travel. Bev remained active in the life of First Baptist Church until arthritis made it too difficult to get around.
Her older brother, John Ernlund, preceded her in death; she is survived by her husband of 57 years, and their daughter, Andrea Dobson.
A memorial celebration will be held at Everett First Baptist Church at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2011.

Andrea - I never met you, but knew your sweet parents as my dental patients. They often spoke of you and I know they were as proud of you as you are of them.

Mr. Dobson: Sorry about the loss of your loving wife & life partner. I remember her fondly from the years you spent being my Boy Scout leader and role model. Your guidance so many years ago has helped me succeed in life with family & career. You were blessed with many years with her, and I was blessed with a few years with you.
