He graduated from Marysville High School, served with the Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in August of 1952. He was a lifetime member of the Sons of Norway, Normanna Lodge.
In 1953, he met and married the love of his life, Wanda Griffin. Together they succeeded in making their marriage loving and happy for 58 years.
Charles is survived by his wife, Wanda; brothers-in-law, Tom (Yvonne) Griffin, Bill (Shirley) Griffin, Ron (Karen) Griffin; sisters-in-law, Ruby (Bill, deceased) Shockley and Mary (David) Kronisch; and nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Anna Stone; sisters, Clara (Kenneth) Rice, Violet Martin, Lillian (Stan) Wiklund and Gladys (Arne) Moe; and brother, Oliver (Mary) Stone.
Charles was employed by Scott Paper Company from 1955-1984. Charles loved camping, fishing in Eastern Washington, RVing to Arizona and repairing motor vehicles, his own and the vehicles of friends.
Words don't go far enough, dear Charles.... We love you and will miss you always!
At his request, there will be no services. Family and friends will gather at a future date to remember and celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Marysville Food Bank would be appreciated or the charity or your choice.
