Cheryl Dargitz Obituary

Cheryl Kay Dargitz

Cheryl Kay Dargitz, beloved mother, sister, aunt and grandma, was called to heaven February 25, 2011 following a brief illness. Family and friends were at her bedside. Cheryl was born April 18, 1949 in Everett, WA. She grew up in Marysville, WA. After graduation from high school in 1967 she married Steven Dargitz and they raised their family in Marysville. Cheryl was employed by the Marysville School District and spent the last 30 years driving school bus. It was a career that she excelled in and truly loved. In her free time she enjoyed road trips with family and friends, fishing, scrapbooking, summer breaks relaxing in her lawn chair in the river, and she had a special fondness for the casino slot machines.
She was a friend to all and was loved by so many. Her kind genuine spirit and big smile was always present. Her phone calls were always ended with, "I love you."
Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Brenda; son, Duane (Cassandra); sister, Linda; brother, George (Charlene); niece; nephew; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve; and parents, Don and Marie Blair. She also leaves many special lifelong friends, you know who you are.
Cheryl will always be on our minds and forever in our hearts. She will be truly missed by all. Gone but never forgotten. We love you Cher.
A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 6 at Marysville Art & Technology HS, 7204 27th Avenue NE.

Cheryl you will be missed! I promise I will be there for your daughter. You touched everyones lives, as it showed at your memorial. Whenever I would call the house for Brenda you always knew it was me no matter how long it had been between calls. You will be truely missed. I believe the Lord needs you and it was your time. Although we can be angry that you left us so soon its okay because you are in a better place, and you will be in our hearts forever. My prayers go out to Cheryls family and friends. Love Cass

Linda and all of the family. Your sis was so friendly all the time and so much fun to be around. Fond memories of all of us girls out at the river with our lawn chairs soakin up the sun or me showing off my piddle pad hahaha. I had to write it because I can still see Brenda cracking up and Cheryl. Gees we have had a lot of laughs out at the river. So much fun. We will miss her so much. She is such a doll and such a great person. Linda if you or anyone else in the family needs anything don't hesitate to call or if you just want somebody to talk with pick up the phone and call me or stop by. I love you Nina and my heart aches for you and your family. Love you love you. Debbie Hudson

Between my brother and I, Cheryl has been in our lives as our bus driver for about 15 years. She was always so warm and friendly when I'd see her. No matter what happened at school, it was always wonderful to start and end the day with Cheryl. My heart goes out to all whose lives were touched by Cheryl.

So sad to hear of Cheryl's sudden passing. My heart goes out to her family, and extended family at MSD Transportation, and all the families (including mine) who have been blessed to have Cheryl as their busdriver. I always appreciated her friendly hellos and goodbyes as my kids got on and off her bus from 1991 through 2007, and then her waves to me in the following years when I'd be out fetching the morning paper as her bus rolled by. Peace be with you, Cheryl. You will be missed!

When someone is taken from us at such a "young age"......we have to not look at the years of life they had but rather the life in the years they had. Cheryl definitely had life in her years...she was always telling me of activities she was engaging in with family members or friends......she had time for everyone and always had a smile to give away. I enjoyed the few years that I was fortunate enough to work with Cheryl.....she was a wonderful person and her presence will truly be missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

To Cheryl's family,
I worked with Cheryl for more than 10 years, she every single day treated our students with absolute love, patience and sweetness. She never complained even though the routes she drove were extremely demanding and worked hard to help in any situation she possible could. I will always remember Cherly as a truely beautiful person.
