Clarence Engstrom

Funeral services for Clarence Engstrom of Marshalltown, and formerly Knoxville, were held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors followed in the Graceland Cemetery.
Clarence Larry Engstrom was born on June 19, 1948 in Everett, Washington, the son of Oscar Engstrom and Clara Mabel Danner.
Following graduation from High School, Clarence was drafted in to the Air Force to serve during the Vietnam War. He served in Turkey for two years before being honorably discharged and returning to Washington State. In 1996, Clarence moved to Knoxville where he lived until moving to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown in 2009.
Clarence enjoyed horticulture of all kinds, having many house plants and trees that he planted in his yard. He loved spending time with his cats and scratching off lottery tickets.
He passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown at the age of 64 years.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Levearn and Darla Engstrom, and a sister, Delores Grabner.
Survivors include his sisters, Lorraine Sparring of Washington State, Myrna Schackman of Arizona, Betty Flow of Washington State; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Marilyn Hopwood.
