Clyde Dallas Arndt
Clyde served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Tessi; four brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Cookie; a son, Tony Arndt of Boise, ID; a daughter, Teri Salsbury of Anacortes, WA; two stepsons, Troy Deierling (Susan) of AZ and Jim Close (Val) of Marysville, WA; stepdaughter, Joyce Deleon of Everett, WA; brothers, Max (Dorothy) of CA, Jerry (Glenda) of MN; sisters, Caroline (Jim) Whitney of MN and Connie (Hank) Cook of ID; as well as 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
At Clyde's request, there will be a party for him at My Buddy's Place, 700 Wapato Way, Manson, WA 98831 on April 2, 2011 at 4:00 p.m.
Condolences may be sent to Cookie (c/o Jim Close), 5310 85th Place NE, Marysville, WA 98270.

Clyde, you need to come back now. This is getting to be too much work for me alone. Even tho its been over 2 years since you left, I miss you like it was yesterday. I will be "kicking your butt"when we meet again, for not being here to help me. I know you are testing me just to see how strong I really am. RIP my love. Well tonight we had our final good bye party for all of us old geezers. They called it the "Red Solo Cup" party. Even tho you left me a year ago, people still talk about you and all the fun we had in your years here at the resort. I really had doubts about coming back down this year, but am glad that I did. So many friends to keep me going on without you.
I am heading back to Wa on Weds and will be going back to work, where you loved it so. Its been pretty rough without you but hopefully it will get easier.
It is still so hard to think that you arent around but WAIT FOR ME "JUST BEYOND THE MOON" I will be there. And we'll dance among the stars, as you said.

Have wanted to say a final goodbye for sometime. Just found it hard to begin. seeing your children's sad postings ... missing you so much , has hurt my heart. I just want to say "I'm thankful" for our visits thru the years and the understanding that came from what was of our years together. I know it helped you enjoy your later years. So , Clyde .... Can't believe it's already been a year since you left us Clyde. I know that you are no longer in pain and am thankful for that!! You worked so hard all of your entire life. I feel blessed to have had you as a step father and am proud to have grown up with your children (espcially Teri as we played softball together and she was my sister that I never had). We miss you Clydster, so sad we lost you so soon, your smile and laugh is surely missed every day and I'm so greatful you were a part of my life and my kids's life as well. Hi Dad,
It is hard to believe that you have been away from us for a year. I think of you everyday, but I get weepy when I think of that day in March. I was so looking forward to seeing you and spending time together. I just thought we would have been given that chance. I wish I would have come to Arizona to see you and help you get home. The thought of spring will never be the same for me. I love you and miss you very much. Please do me a favor and give my sister a hug and tell her hello for me.

Well, my love its been 1 year and 2 hours since you have passed. Our friends gathered around a campfire and toasted you as you are soooooooooooo missed by our friends and especially Annie and I.
Been packing for a week now to get ready for the trip back to Wa.
I miss you so much and cant believe its been a whole year.

Still missing you soooooooooo much. Joyce and Steve were here to spend Christmas with me and Annie as she knew it would be a rough one for me, and it was. Everyone here in the resort misses you so much and we do a lot of reflecting about the fun times and the funny things you used to say and do. I had to help get the firewood for the winter, for our many bonfires. You and Al used to do it all. Now you are resting and probably laughing at us. Even the nightly fires are not the same without you.
All the summer kids are here for the New Years holiday and are so good about stopping by to see me as they all did when you were here. Again its not the same. Weather is nice, close to 80 and I can picture you sitting here in the sun watching gunsmoke on our outside TV.
I dont know why I am telling you all this as YOU KNOW as you are watching over me and Annie.
Iam looking forward to your Arndt family reunion again this year in Laughlin.

The kids were here for the 4th and you were spoke of often. Gene and Kathy were here also and when I offered gene a seat at the picnic table, he declined as he said "thats Clydes seat". I dont know why I am telling you all this as you are watching over us and already know everything around here. I was going out on the lake to spread some of your ashes around but cant do it yet. I am hanging on to them for now. Love and miss you forever.

Well its been 2 moonths today since you left me. It is a little easier to go on without you, but not much. I still miss you so much.

Dad,
I wish we could of spent more time together, I miss you very much. Their wasn't a day I didn't think about you. You were a true father and a true man and you had the biggest heart for everyone. My dad was a great man. He was as kind as the day is long. Anyone who met him knew they had just met a good friend. Although my dad did not get to meet his great grandson "Diego" I see a part of my dad that will live in him. I miss my dad very much, I miss his chuckle and the way his eyes twinkled when he laughed.
I deeply regret not getting to see my dad much,but I do have the memories of him and for that I am grateful.I cant help but wonder if my dad has been fitted for his wings yet? Dad I miss you terribly and think of you often. I love you to the moon and back. R.I.P

We met Cookie & Clyde ten years ago on the Colorado River... good memories of boat rides with the music blaring, stumbling up and down the hill to Julio's, beach fires under starry skies, happy hours around the picnic table, Christmas parties, etc. We will truly miss Clyde, a great guy!
