Dale Counard Obituary

Dale A. Counard

Dale Counard, 88, peacefully passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 with his family by his side.
Dale was born August 10, 1922 in Green Bay, WI and was a life-long Packer fan. He proudly served six years in the United States Navy and was retired from Boeing after 33 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen, and is survived by his family of three children, Kathleen, Douglas, and Renee; their spouses, Randy, Sandi, and Cameron; six grandchildren, Aubree, Jaime, Casey, Kevin, Erin, and Courtney; and two great-grandchildren: Jolie and Justice... all of whom will miss him dearly.
Dale requested no service but a celebration of his life is being planned for August.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Dale's name to the American Lung Association.
Peace be with you too, Dad.

I still miss him to this day. Am very fortunate to live right down the street from where he is resting along with Aunt Helen, and always make it a point to say hello as I pass by.

papa, grandpa, family, friend. you were it all. i love you papa dale and i miss you very very much. i think of you everyday. im always reminded of all the good times and memories weve had, the funny. you are and had always always been an inspiration to me and my life. i could never "thank you" enough for being the best man and the best papa a girl could have and ask for. you helped raise me and erin. you have provided us so many memories that i will always carry with me and hold close to my heart. i always find myself thinking of the nice and or funny things you would say or should i say how you would say things. i will never never never forget you. and how much of my life you had shared with me. i cherish it all and all the memories of when you use to watch erin and i in the summer. all the family occasions/get togethers.theres so so many papa. thanks for allowing me to have them all. i love you papa i miss you. you mean everything to me and our whole family.

If a tiny baby could think, it would be afraid of birth. To leave the only world it had known would seem a kind of death. But immediately after birth the child finds itself in loving arms, showered with love and affection. To those who believe-Passing on is really a birth into a new and better world. Those that are left behind should not grieve as if there were no hope. Life has changed, not taken away. Our Uncle Dale is in a world beautiful beyond anything we can imagine. He is with his parents his beloved wife and his deceased siblings. They are up there talking about the love they all had for all of us. There they await the day when they will welcome us with such undending joy and affection. May they all rest in peace...till we meet again!!:)

So sorry to hear of Dale's passing. I still remember those camping trips in the trailer and riding in the Carry-All. The time the transmission went out on the way to the Olympic Peninsula, what a trip. I can still see him in his bell bottom mavy denims, what a guy! God Bless.

Papa.....oh, how I love you so so much. I feel such a void without you. Who am I going to spend my Mondays with? I wrote this poem as I held your hand in your last moments with us and I will read it again at my wedding:" My Papa, my friend. You held me when I was little, you comforted me when I was sad, you read my favorite book over and over again. Every time with you we had fun. Smiles and laughs were overrun. You mean the world to me. You loved me for being me and so much of me is from a part of you. Grandparents Day at school, Mcdonalds playland, summer days, orthodontist appointments, and bowling league games, you were always there when I needed you. I tried my best as I became older to care for you the best I knew how and in ways you cared for me when I was a child. Many fond and funny memories, time spent that shall never be forgotten. You are so important to me in so many ways. I love your stories about your life and the pictures of us together. I hope that I helped you during tough times in your life because my love for you, my Papa, carried me through so many difficult situations. I just want to make you proud. " ------Love always and forever, Erin .

A lot of memories, going all the way back to Olympic Hot Springs, Bumping Lake, and so many others. I'll miss Dale, and I'll always cherish these memories.

Uncle Dale, Aunt Helen, Kathy, Doug, Renee (and Thunder) were a huge part of my early years. They lived about a mile from the house I grew up in. Our families spent alot of time together, and we always played "31" after dinner. Our family still plays that game after dinner when we are all together. Uncle Dale would always say, "Dueces never looses"...and today that phrase can still be heard at every game we play. I will miss you, Uncle Dale....the one who gave me my nickname. Your children and grandchildren are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love you,

Seeing this picture of Uncle Dale - its Definitely Him! How many times have we seen Uncle Dale with this "peace" sign - before the peace sign was really big! We will miss him greatly! Love you all...and will try to make the August get-together if it comes to be.

To Dale's family and my nieces and nephew, my prayers for your families. Dale will be sadly missed from my life.
