Dallas Smith, 82, of Marysville, WA was reunited with the love of his life, Jeanne Smith, on September 23, 2013. He was born March 8, 1931 in Padroni, CO to Agnes "Peggy" and Edmond "Jack" Smith. He moved to Seattle when he was 10 years old where he attended school and graduated from Ballard High in 1948. He went on to graduate from Western Washington University with a Bachelors of Arts in Education in 1959 and taught in the Marysville school district for the next 23 years. He retired in 1982 teaching history at Marysville Junior High School, but continued to substitute in the Granite Falls school district. The last year of his life, he lived at Grandview Village retirement community in Marysville. He enjoyed living there. He liked the staff and residents and was well liked in return. He will be remembered for his laugh and his sense of humor. Dallas is survived by his children, Jeffrey Smith, Jay Smith, Julie Hendrickson, and Jennifer Renville; stepchildren, Christopher Lundin and Kelly Sattler; grandchildren, Jaclyn Johnson, Michelle "Shelly" Smith, Jay Smith, Jr., Bryan and Renee Renville; and his great grandchildren, Blake and Brooklyn Johnson, Hunter and Jackson Eaton, Jayden and Kristian Smith; as well as a large extended family. Dallas was preceded in death by his brothers, Hubert Lee Smith, Robert Smith; and his first grandchild, Jason Hendrickson. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 213 at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State Ave., Marysville, WA 98270.
