Doyle Middleton Obituary

Doyle E. Middleton

After enduring cancer for over five years, Doyle passed away from complications of pneumonia on April 26, 2011 at the age of 71, with the comfort of his family present.
He was born on January 23, 1940 in Nampa, ID and lived in Everett, WA most of his life.
Doyle was a loving father to his own family, a dear friend and second father to many. His warm smile and sense of humor drew people to him.
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he focused his life on sharing his Bible-based beliefs with others, and contributed his time and talents working on many Kingdom Hall construction projects.
He was a highly skilled carpenter for over 40 years, and operated his own construction business for 25 years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of almost 49 years, Luwana; children, Steve (Nancy), Jared (Elizabeth), Amy (Brian) Slimak and Zebulon (Nichole); grandchildren, Blayze, Avery and Braxton Slimak; siblings, Gene (Stella), Rick (Trina), Diana Newbury, JoAnn Williams and Jan Seely; aunt, Wilma (Jack) Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Henry Li and his staff at The PolyClinic, the team of doctors and staff at Swedish Medical Center (Seattle); Dr. Steven Adam and staff at Providence Regional Cancer Partnership (Everett) for their excellent care.
All are welcome to attend Doyle's memorial service to be held: Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 2 p.m., Edward D. Hansen Conference Center (Comcast Arena), 2000 Hewitt Avenue, Ste. 200, Everett, WA 98201. Entrance is on Hewitt by the three ring sculpture/fountain.

Mrs.Middleton,
It has been 22 years since I visited with you. Seems not too long ago we children were building forts and running around the neighborhood. Great memories! I think of the old days often.
Steve, Jared, Amy, Zeb & families,
I wish you peace & comfort.

I was truly saddened to hear of Doyle's passing. The last time that I saw Doyle he was waiting with my Mum for me to pick her up from the Kingdom Hall after a Tuesday morning meeting. I had been late in getting there and she was the only one left. So he waited with her. It had been some 23 years since I had seen him. I gave him a big hug. He was his usual calm, warm, gentle, smiling, self even though at the time he was already ill. He touched so many people in much the same way as was evidenced by the large turn out to his memorial service yesterday. He will be missed.

My thoughts and wishes for strength and comfort go out to you Luwana, and to your extended family.

To Luwana & Family,

It has been around 25 yrs since I last saw you all. Zeb & Amy were young children then, I a teenager....how time flies! Yet I still remember Doyle's warmth & gentleness of spirit. It obviously left quite an impression on me & I was saddened to hear about his passing. Yet his spirit lives on in the wonderful memories cherished by all whose lives he touched.

It was great seeing you all again at the memorial, despite the circumstances.

Be blessed, stay strong & keep the faith.

Doyle was truly a special person! He treated everyone with such kindness and concern, you couldn't help but feel good after a conversation with Doyle. The world is a sadder place without him. I look forward to the day when Jehovah calls for him and so many other loved ones to "Come on out".

My heart and prayers go out to the entire family.

Doyle, what can you say. He was one of the finest persons I have ever met. So kind, helpful, a wonderful sense of humor. A skilled carpenter who I worked with in the early 70s. I have been around him many times since and have enjoyed his company. My sympathies to his extended family especially his wife and children. Soon we will see him again in Jehovah's wonderful new world. Can't wait to see him then. Sleep on my dear brother.
