Elizabeth Anne Nowak 1938-2011

Elizabeth Nowak, 72, passed away peacefully April 26, 2011 at Everett Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington.
Liz was born in David City, Nebraska in October, 1938. She moved to the Seattle, WA area with her family as a little girl. She attended school in Burien and graduated from Highline High School in 1956. Liz then attended Washington State University where she met James B. Nowak. They were married in 1961. They made their home in the Seattle area then the Oregon coast and finally in Anchorage and Valdez Alaska. After many years in Alaska, which remained in her heart, they returned to their Lake Goodwin, WA home to enjoy their retirement.
Liz was an avid weaver, selling many pieces at craft shows and fairs in addition to dying and spinning her own wool. She also enjoyed pottery for several years.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jim; sons, Scott and Sally, of Coeur d'Alene, ID., Ben, of Stanwood, WA and Eric, of Eagle River Alaska; a brother, Fredrick Wentz; sister, Mary Lou Solomon; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, Frederick and Melanie Wentz.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., May 7 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Stanwood, Washington.
