Elma Lee Obituary

Elma Isabel White Lee
(Tot)

Tot Lee, age 99, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2011 at Harbor Care in Oak Harbor four months shy of her 100th birthday.
She was born on July 15, 1911 in Nutana, Saskatchewan, Canada the fourth child of Achilla White and Martha Hickson White. She was given the childhood name "Tot" for youngest which stayed with her throughout her life. Tot moved with her family to the United States in her teen years, settling in the Bremerton, WA area and graduating from Bremerton High School. During WWII she worked as a secretary for the Naval Department in Bremerton.
Tot was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sisters, her first husband Ray Moliter, her second husband Don Lee and one great grand-daughter, Samantha.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Carol) Moliter of Coupeville, WA; daughter, Sally (Sandy) Church of Hansville, WA; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Tot and Don Lee operated Lee Grocery Company of Everett for many years while living at Hermosa Beach near Marysville. Tot loved her waterfront home and many of the neighbors were her dearest friends. Don and Tot enjoyed fishing and traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest waters. Winters were spent in Palm Springs and Tot traveled throughout the world, often accompanied by either her brother or her sisters. Tot and Don were avid gardeners as well as belonging to the Everett Yacht Club for many years. Tot also was a member of the Port Gardner Ladies Golf Club since 1946 and was an active golfer into her early 90's. She remained an ardent Master Bridge player until the last couple of years. One of her favorite activities was attending the Marysville Strawberry Festival, not missing a parade for 54 consecutive years.
Donations may be made to an animal shelter of your choice as her most cherished companions in later life were her dog "Sadie" and her cat "Hazel." Another donation suggestion would be to any charity providing relief for Japan. When Tot was admitted to the Whidbey General Hospital Emergency Department on March 10 she insisted that there had been an earthquake that morning. The next day Japan was to suffer their devastating earthquake.

Tot - All of us at the beach will forever miss your smiling face and your great sense of humor, your friendliness to all, your stories and your knowledge of Hermosa Point(and it's history was always fascinating.) You were a true and loyal friend to anyone that was lucky enough to meet you and a great teacher regarding life in general and a great inspiration to us all. We are so sad you didn't quite make it to your 100th birthday, but you 99th party was so much fun and "just another" good memory. Love & Kisses to You! Don and Sharon
PS There were no "blue" crabs in Don's crab pot!

Just a couple of questions for you MRS LEE; Are you making the bloody mary's in heaven?; Are you watching the crab pots from above? We will always & forever cherish you! We have lost our Matriarch! Thank-You Tot for making our lives at this beach such a memorable one. We Love You Tot.

Robert Moliter & Family. So sorry to hear the passing of your mother. She was one in a million. I lived next door to the west of her at the beach for for two years, 83-85. We shared many a laughs together over a martine with Billie & John Hayes ( my neighbor west of me ). I remember taking care of her dog JR when Totsie (as I called her) would head off to someplace. I will always have found memories of her.... All my best Bernie Caufman

Even though Tot was my elder she became the very best friend of my life. I will always cherish the days when I would jog down to Tots and then she would clean my clock at gin . Oh, how my heart aches and how much I will miss her.

But right now...I think she is down here in Palm Springs with me.

Hugs and kisses, Tot.
